If you want a post in a conversation to remain secret, post again immediately afterwards with something innocuous. Someone coming in to the conversation can only read the last post, so they will only read the innocuous one. Doesn't help with eavesdroppers, but you scan of the hall should have countered that.

yeah.... as i'm waiting in the cargo hold i do a visual scan of the contents.... as well as use my spiffy little doodad to scan it too..... just can't beat that technology i tell ya.....

may as well scan lorenz too.... but i can't know about that until i get a chance to check my scanners....

*growls* i'm gonna have to take a brief leave of absense..... it won't be more than a day or two..... but i'm just not in the mood to make any rational choices right now...... i'm going through some really hard times IRL..... i apologize.....



Note: is what lorenzen has my scanner? cause i'm pretty sure i've had my hand wrapped around it since i left the cabin...... but maybe i'm wrong.......

Starting with the last thing first, the item that Lorenzen gives you is your transmitter, which you were sure was safely locked in your sea chest. How could it be just lying around?

The scan of the room reveals a couple of point energy sources at the far end, but Lorenzen shows up before you can investigate. Ther results of your scan of Lorenzen will be seen when you get a chance to view your scanner.

Just reread the thread and I guess Lorenzen didn't give it to you, he just held it out.

issues in my life have yet to clear up and the loss of my cousins in the recent tragedy has made matters worse...... it isn't fair to the other players, since i am unsure of how often i will be able to post......

GL - Richardson did not participate in the battle on deck, so unless otherwise notified I'm going with the idea that I lost my footing when the Kracken first rammed the MC and was knocked silly. I'll enter staggering onto the deck, holding my aching head.

I need you to confirm that Lorenzen has my transmitter.

Also, I scanned Lorenzen but never got a result. I should now know that he has a recall device identical to Bermuda's. I should also know he carries something battery opperated, but not what it is (the agonizer). Check?

Oh, Lorenzen and probably Bermuda should recognize Marten's saw as CART standard issue.

Mac - your explanation of your absence sounds good - go for it. Also, the results of the scan sound right - presumably you had a chance to check it after you came to, before going on deck. And I'll post to Lorenzen and Amelia about the chainsaw.

GL - from the cabin door I use my scanner on Uli.

And I scan Cook Head. At this point Richardson is starting to worry about alien bounty hunters (Grand-Theft Starship being a capital crime on Tau Ceti).

Your scans reveal the following:

Uli - she has some strong power source near her left hip, but the scanner has trouble getting a fix on it. Furthermore, the scanner cannot identify what it is. This is very strange, since you believed that all possible power sources were known on Tau Ceti. The bear talisman that she wears also shows up as a power source of an unknown type. You are a little shocked at this.

Cook Head - no sources of power on him.

Right, I can only scan on one setting at time. If I get the chance I want to try again scanning their anatomy this time. I expect I'll be surprised to learn that Uli is not a Cetacean, and I will have no idea what planet the cook comes from.
