I have found a South African red wine to go with a meat dish. I would order it in honour of our best friend, Zeppo. It is called Mulderbosch Faithful Hound 1996 and is exported to the UK from S.A. so BB should be able to get a bottle for us.

Oops sorry BB, it is exported to the U.S. I don't know if it is available in the UK so you may have to hire a Jet.

Don Alfredo

Do you think one bottle is enough??

Let 's get the things straight:
Infinity is preparing Babotie, and d'E is preparing fish. These are courses 3 and 4.

Since fish is less filling up I suggest to eat the fish before the meat.

Leaves the 1st, 2nd and 5th course.

I would be happy to prepare the carpaccio if that is allright with you guys. I can prepare it like an antipasto d'E.

So the soup and the dessrt are left for Rama and Cafram.

Did I get it right?

Rama - now floating around the world on Her Majesty's Finest

Soup - Traditional Leek and Potato soup with Croutons and chunkc of crusty bread with butter.

Takes about half an hour to make but will keep for days and will then only require heating.

Ingredients - Leeks x 4, Potatoes x 8 (large, not New potatoes), good vegetable stock or bouillon, smallish tub of double cream, 2 day old bread for the croutons, oil for frying, fresh crusty bread and butter.

Need to serve in warmed bowls.

How about eating this meal in the garden as the weather is so lovely at the moment?

Later, Rama

Nice one Rama. Eating in the garden sounds wonderful.

That leaves dessert for you Cafram.

If Cafram can't manage the dessert, I'll do it. I've found a yummy one which will be great fun to do.

*grins*

It will almost be like a party. You may all want to hang around when I'm making it!

How many courses do we have sorted now?

I think only 4 lists of ingredients have gone through to BB. Are we missing something?

Don Alfredo has to order the carpaccio.

I've already cooked the greens so they only need to be reheated. The fish cook rapidly, and only need a few minutes in the frying pan followed by a few minutes in the oven, but I'll have to preheat both, so I estimate about 30 minutes total kitchen time.

Can we guesstimate the time needed to prepare the carpaccio?

As Carpaccio is raw meat (normally beef) or it's very quickly seared to give a coating, almost no time at all.

I'll start my soup soon as that can also be micro'd at a later time with no effect to taste.

Please can someone tell me how much time we have.

I am going to start my food now. If necessary it will keep warm in the warming drawer.

cafram - in the states.

Yeah - I'm here, sorry - had uni again today (yik)...I'm doing a Pavlova, half chocolate, half fruit...hope that's ok with everyone...trying to get an extension cos I have to start work at 5:30 tomorrow morning (it's currently 23:08) and I'd like to sleep sometime between now and then...

If the extension doens't happen then I'll just further my insomnia...

I will have to fry the meat first. That would take about 15 minutes (at the most).

Then it has to cool down in the freezer. Meanwhile I can prepare the rest.

I think it takes me half an hour til 3 quarters of an hour ro prepare the whole course.

As soon as I have got the ingrediƫnts I will start.

Have the dinner in the gardden sounds like a really great idea to me.

The soups made and is standing by to be micro'd at any convenient point.

BB has extended our time until we need to eat another meal. That's easy let's just not eat in the house

Well unfortunately I've got to go but I'll grab some for breakfast tomorrow.

Soup ready whenever, just needs to be micro'd.
