Sorry, I got mixed up. The grape harvest is part of the French celebration. Denmark might be a bit too far North for grapes to grow.

oh we even produce wine here, but i think the last grapes are harvested early october at the latest
in germany and austria (and maybe some other countries - maybe even denmark?) they sometimes wait until the first frost sets in. then they press the grapes while they are still frozen thus getting a more concentrated juice to ferment. the result is called eisswein and is a very sweet, aromatic desert wine
(often with an undesirable after taste though, - not really my favourite)

Is it too early for a little glass of wine? *stares at the yardarm*
Thinks better of it and has a glass of iced tea instead

the ghost floats in and sits on the yardarm.
He sits staring vacantly into space.

Hello I hope you have your own user id? I would hate to lose you overboard.
Hands the ghost a drink - I'm afraid it's not much, you will have to fill it with your own sort of spirits.

grasps Pierce's pegleg, as it is the nearest bit of wood to hand.
Captain Sire - I am just a bit frightened of the thought of those wicked water sprites.

I hope it's not a dybbuk...

In the film "A Serious Man," there's an old jewish couple in Poland who let an old friend into their house on a cold snowy night. The catch is that the friend has been dead for three years. The wife is aghast, as she is sure he is a dybbuk, or evil spirit. A dybbuk can apparently put a curse on you.
I wonder if the Boogeyman is descended from dybbuks?

I absolutely do NOT believe in such things as ghosts or stuff like that. But I have SEEN a ghost - there is no other explanation.
Conundrums are what make this world such a place.

Aye, it's the kind of world where the normal get , and the get weirder. I need someone to blame for this. I would blame the illuminati, but I'm too lazy to try to find them. Same for the Druids. I would blame the Masons, but too many of them are in my own family, and I don't want to piss off anybody who might retaliate by dropping me from his will. (not that any of my relatives will end up with anything to bequeath to me, but there's always a slim amount of hope. )

We haven't many grapes here so we use hops; or anything we can find. I've seen several but I'm never quite sure afterwards.
I was at Warwick Castle looking out of the window, turned slightly glancing in a mirror on a dressing table and saw a chap in a green tweed suit and handlebar moustache looking at me.
He looked like Hercule Poirot; I turned to look at him and there was no-one there.

that is exactly what hercule would do
as for grapes and hops a friend of mine told me the other day that his former girlfriend used to make wine out of - parsley, no less!
- it never tasted of parsley, though. it was great, he claims
i used to make wine myself back when wine was expensive and i was even poorer than i am now (i can hardly afford my castle anymore - and after the xmas debauchery i may even have to sell a few of my microsoft shares...)

Gawd, anyone would think I'd gotten engaged! (I haven't!)
Just finally snared my little Freak. It's only taken him three years to figure it out and me just under three years to realise that I wanted him to figure it out.
So...
I reckon we should just mix a few of these together and see what happens...
