i once spent some time with a bunch of guys from kurdistan...
when we cooked the aubergine like that, they referred to it as
'kurdistani fish' probably due to the total lack of coastline
in kurdistan.

I´ve already eaten that lobster... I could do with some peanuts though, or some crisps
*finds some lying about - eats them up....*

Good to see you getting the hang of the BBQ is you have to do one in RL next week! I remember as a child we used to have BBQ's for my birthday. Only thing was despite it being in August it almost always rained and so we wnded up with either my Dad cooking on the BBQ under the garage door to keep out of the rain or if it was really bad Mum just cooking the food in the Kitchen! The joys of an English Summer BBQ!

pops in after a particularly long Improbability Drive generated time lapse.
Really we must get that drive adjusted. Here I've almost missed the BBQ. (but I had a lovely golf game at the company tournament during the lapse) Ooooo lobster!!! How lovely and the Carribean type without those fearsome claws.
takes a lobster off the grill gets a (ale) out of the cooler and wades in the warm water munching and sipping happily.
At home we have a large deck off the kitchen and when the weather is warm we usually BBQ as it keeps the house cooler. As with most N. Americans now the BBQ is propane fired and so is ready in no time at all. I see we are still being traditional here with the briquettes and all and so nicely arranged inside the grill. Very artistic. Did you do that Alec or did Englander transfer his sandcastle skills over to cooking?

*returns from a quick recce of the fort*
Any lobster left?
August is on record as the wettest month on average in the UK, Light. Which is partly why we bought a propane bbq. We used to find that just as the coals were reaching the right temperature, the heavens would open!
Now we can sneak out before the weather gods notice and get it light and the food on before a black cloud gets over the horizon. It also cooks food much better and with a bit of Aussie or New Orleans smokey sauce you still get a good flavour.
Now i'm really hungry.

yes...we're definitely still traditionalists here, we don't use the coal that is soaked in the flammable stuff, and usually use wooden kindling to get the coals going.
*puts more chicken on and a few marinated steaks too*
amazing how long these coals are lasting isn't it
*(no real cows or chickens or lobsters were hurt or killed during the making of this barbecue event)*
thirsty work though...someone please pass me a ...ta.

*Wanders down from the Fort to the beach and pauses to listen to a Jolly Mon singing about Orion and a dolphin. The Jolly Mon notices she's a and abruptly stops singing and slips away. Walks out onto a spit of sand and sees
fins to the left and
fins to the right!!!
Goes back and helps E with his sandcastle*
