the ghost taps out a tune on the bar and starts singing 
There was General Washington , upon a slapping stallion,
A giving orders to his men,
I guess there was a million
And there thy'd fife away like fun
And play on cornstalk fiddles,
Some had ribbons red as blood
all bound about their middles
The troopers too would gallop up
and fire right in our faces
it scared me almost half to death
To see them run such races.
Uncle Sam came there to change
some pancakes and some onions
a wearing red and white and blue, and
walking on his bunions.
The yankee doodle troops I saw
A moving in battalions
A giving red coats holy 
from every tree and canyon.
Yankee doodle keep it up
Yankee doodle dandee
Mind the music and the step
And with the girls be handy
