::captain enters with a gas-chrono-matograf-meter (or something like that)::
leaping lizzards, this meter hasn't detected anything like this since the invention of the fertilizer bomb. in fact it says here that the two milliliters you have there equal as much kilotons of TNT as was in the first nuclear bombs
best get rid of it fast, so if shagbark refuses to drink it i suggest we make it exorbitant in a jiffy

*well, today being the 4th of July, alec is spending the day quietly
down in the generator room.*
The dogs and I, not being great fans of fireworks, will be celebrating the independence of these two great countries from each other with a few cold , maybe a or
*rolls out the 'slap-on' rollaway steel punch cabinet and sets up the liquidiser and the tropical fruit.*
*cracks open the first gr*lsch and checks the shackleton compartment for ice*
Mind you, i've not been such a great fan of Ernest since i read that he shot the chippies' cat.
If anyone would care to join me for a quiet celebration of independence, you will all be most welcome.

*shrugs*
trust Captain Paracaidas to bring politics into the conversation...we'll have none of that sort of talk in here sir.
Did you see the rest of the pictures of Ft. Jefferson on my Fotki page Kes ?
I'm thinking of writing my first entry for the guide on the place.
There's a 'hot shot' oven, where a 315lb cannonball is heated to glowing red hot, carried up to the cannon, loaded and fired at some poor ship. All they have to do is land it on the deck and the ball just burns its way downwards.
Hmmm, Adnams, makes for a good breakfast drink.
