Let's take some time aside to contemplate the Goo

Good goo. It took a while to get used it, Now it is the only state to be.

Goo, Goo, Glorious Goo!
The only way that I want to view
The wonderful world of H2G2,
Goo, Goo, Glorious Goo!
Who knew? Glorious Goo!
Whether it shows up in black or in blue,
A salve to my eyes, when I'm surfing til two,
Too true, Glorious Goo!
Happy birthday to you, Glorious Goo!
If all of the reading that I'll ever do
Could only appear, steeped through and through
In the Classic dark blue of Glorious Goo!
(Two more lines, and I could call it a sonnet!
Hmmm... I'll have to meditate on it.)

How about...
Goo Goo, glorious Goo.
It'll always be with us on h2g2
So there'll be no sorrow
In the tomorrow
When all that I see is glorious Goo.
Goo Goo glorious Goo!
Its not the same colour as Alabaster or Poo
Its oh so blobby,
While we're being gooby,
So let us rejoice in Glorious Goo .

HB2H2G2! (Happy Birthday to...)
Yup, that Goo's resillient stuff; it gets all pushed out of shape, but still it goes on!
Two weeks from today it'll be my second anniversary on the site - I've seen a lot of changes; some of the more off-the-wall humor has been "toned down" (Who remembers "You know you've been Yozzled when you can't find your arse with a roadmap"? ), and the "alignment" of the Goo, where all the endearing textual quirks which made it "special" were stomped on... But, you know, even with all that, and in spite of the current "moderation angst", this is *still* the best site around!
To all the italics: Keep up the good work! It really is appreciated, even if that doesn't always show through. I, for one, am a natural whiner... If I ever make it to a Southern get-together, or you make it up to Scotland, I'll buy you a or several!

Aye! Same sentiments as Peet, I may have whinged a bit myself when the site came back but I really have never found a site or chatgroup that comes even close to this.
Thanks to you all
Long Live h2g2

Agreed! I was simply lost without h2g2 - I play in another chatgroup, but its not nearly as much fun as this. At the time h2g2 went down, I was away from home, family and friends, but with computer access. When h2g2 went down, I felt completely alone.

Yeah, all that! H2G2 is the center of the web as far as I'm concerned! Yay, Guide! Yay, us! Yay, Goo! I'm pretty new here (four and a half months), but I'm definitely here to stay. Becoming a researcher has been one of the best things that's ever happened to me! Dreams really do come goo.. er, I mean, true!
Goo, Goo,
Glorious Goo,
May we be here when you
Turn a hundred and two!

There's a goo for all occasions.
Goo-ls for Halloween... goo-fing around on April 1st... and let's not forget goo-dFriday.
Goo is beautiful... goo is righteous... goo is... very difficult to wash out.
