A Conversation for h2g2's Virtual Birthday Party
Wow, who'd have thought....

Orcus, we had some triple-simposts and even a quadripost at last night's Sainting ceremony.
That was a barrel of fun.
Let me get you the link from the ceremony onwards for you to read.
Even Elvis himself made an appearance and sang a son.
But he left the building before the song finished, so St.Seven of Nine had to sing the last few lines.

Wes sure know how to party

Thanks for that GB, that was funny
*Believes the quadripost thing now*
Actually, someone on my song-titles thread said a couple of weeks ago that the record was a triplepost so I just believed them, never seen one myself. Ha well. That was an impressive rate of posting. And I thought the song-titles thread was bad. I had a triple post on the Limericks game the other day when the three were all almost identical .
Wow, who'd have thought....

Already done Abi!!!!!
(OK so it needed 000 adding to the front of it....)
U000281 = (0! + 0! + 0!)*2 * (8-1) = 42
Orm just adding on 0 -> U0281 = (0! + 2)! * (8-1) = 42....
Wow, who'd have thought....

Ottox: Oh, Yeah!

Jim Lynn Posted Apr 30, 2001
Argon - it's late, but could you explain to me how 0! = 1? I'm obviously using a different definition of factorial to the rest of the world. Or is it just a special case?
Wow, who'd have thought....
Orcus Posted Apr 30, 2001
Jim, look at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F64903?thread=107593&latest=1 for an explanation (not sure if they haven't bot nCr and nPr the wrong way round mind ;-)).
Wow, who'd have thought....
Jim Lynn Posted May 1, 2001
OK, so it *is* a special case, then.
Still doesn't let me get 42 out of *my* user number (unless it's written as 00000006 which I think is getting a bit silly.
Wow, who'd have thought....

I'd be interested to know if Abi is any wiser
Glad you enjoyed reading the thread, Orcus.
Would you like an invitation to the next Sainting?
You will be assured of being involved in a quadri-post, or more.
I like the way some people responded to something approx. ten postings later. Reading it back is
I can invite anyone, evenconsidering I organize them...
Besides, if Elvis can get in...
Wow, who'd have thought....
Orcus Posted May 1, 2001
Why not? Thankyou
Actually I looked at the main HEAVEN page the other day and the first sentence says something like "go away if your not angelic" so well being a I just thought....
Wow, who'd have thought....
Argon0 (50 and feeling it - back for a bit) Posted May 1, 2001
So Jim is user 6?
Hmmmm.......
U000006 = (0!+0!+0!+0)! * (0!+6) = 42
I make no comment about nCr or nPr as I'm not sure - doesn't usually stop me though .
Key: Complain about this post
