When a child is born, a journey is supposed to begin. I know it's called reproduction when you get your plumbing to work successfully, but child-getting shouldn't be like photocopying. Your child should have opportunities you didn't. You should be aware of the potential of that young life and guide it with curiosity and research. Settling in to reproduce your upbringing produces the same results. Modern technology hasn't changed the need for a child to be watched more closely than a tv screen. You won't know what kind of parent you were until your child becomes a parent. If you leave the parenting to others, like the government or the internet, you will never know what both of you could have become. You have to make that journey with the child. It will change you both.
