Thirty Nine! Thirty Nine! Are you mad. thirty nine steps. twenty nine words to go-it's not that many when you think about it. I mean, it's only thirty nine words, not nine hundred and twenty three or anything

Seventy-three words is a lot as well but Egon is right that it is not as much as nine hundred and twenty three words. It is not even close to that number. I am glad I did not have to do the nine hundred and twenty three word long message/essay there is absolutely no-way that I could have found anything to talk about that was even vaguely interesting.

Thirty plus Nine is the most cruel value possible here.

Most cruel value possible? I should think there are values far more cruel, not to mention sinister, even, that are abounding on the ether as we speak / type!

Forty-two is so typical. Basic, so h2g2 normal, so typical, it's funny...
Anyway, let's change the subject if anyone has any ideas for another one.
Has anybody heard of Peter Suber's game "Nomic?" It's a game where you change the rules...

Maybe it has an entry of its own. I'll check at some point, but I'll give you an overview now... K?

That should be fine - but I may change my mind on that one at a later post, in which case it won’t be. Unless of course it should happen to be, that is.

Eh?

To arrive at a valid explanation of the nature of a whatsit surely all that is required is to point over there, at that alternatively spelt wotsit, sitting on the wall kicking its feet and occasionaly picking its .....

Are you absolutely sure you want to know? If I were you, and I know I'm not, then I'd rather not, and I actually already do, if you see what I mean... Am I making myself Clear?

No, you're doing a damn (are we still allowed to say "damn" on h2g2?) fine impression of a burbling idiot.
OK?

Well I do like to make myself Clear....
But on another point it appears that "damn" IS allowed these days, as well as that other Damn fine word "A**E", but I haven't tried ASS in a while - mainly because I have very little to say on the subject of Donkey Hybrids... Bugger isn't allowed anymore - for some reason they'd changed the buggrin' rules... Which is just a joke, except it isn't - which is an A**ING shame.

I have never understood the point of censoring certain words. What's really funny is when a word filter is poorly programed. I've seen times when words like grass couldn't be used.
Yes, it's true!
I'm not fond of censorship, even though freedom of speach means that narrow minded fundamentalist idiots can spew their hate filled nonsense. There are some people out there who seem to look for excuses to hate people. There are other people who look for reasons to engage in violent acts.

I have no problem with censorship. It is necessary because children could go on the guide and read what we type. Sometimes people can censor some really stupid things but I still think it’s a good thing, in moderation.
The problem is that there can sometimes be too much censorship on h2g2. I am not really sure what is against the rules here.
