h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I haven't been on h2g2 in two years... and this is *still* the most popular conversation in the place!! I don't understand!

How can such a thing be?

Hope nobody minds me joining in here. Im new to hootoo and would appreciate any tips or advice!

Oh you know, life.

Mainly, was a major contributor when I was in high school, but then my senior year was incredibly busy and difficult and I just didn't have any time for anyone, especially myself. So h2g2 had to go. and I didn't have a computer last year. And now I do. So two years into uni, I finally come back. Hooray! How's youre personal space coming?

Best thing about h2g2 is the discussion forums. But think about what you know and feel free to make entries!

Onto the second point - why is Thingism still going strong? I cannot say really I think it just appeals to something in people.

Campaign to rename the days of the week, get silly title, free spork and the chance to be a bit daft - what's not to like?

True, but for so many years and years! It's been in the top five for like five years!

4 years 1 month and 3 days give or take.

Ocassionly we get higher than Ask h2g2, not often. Fewer times we dropped off the 5 busiest list but that happens too.

That's quite an impressive feat, I must admit. So do you enjoy the discussions, or do you think that people just talk on this list to keep it moving?

I don't think people just post here to keep it in the Top 5. It's a fast-moving discussion that swings from the wildly to intelligent to everything in between.

Ah ha. So I presume my random tangent will quickly either 1.) go into oblivion because it's neither silly nor intellegent or 2.) become the next hot thread on Thingy because, well, they're all incredibly popular.
