What about holidays?

Happy Poet's Day/Friday the 13th!
I'm confused as to how to approach the holidays with the new names of the days...
So...is it still Friday the 13th, or is it Poet's Day the 13th?
Good Friday, or Good Poet's Day?
Fat Tuesday or Fat Wimpy? Mardi Gras or Wimpy Gros?
We need to clarify this issue before my head explodes - after a few beers last night, I started thinking about this issue, and the more I drank, the more I focused on it, and now it's all I can think about!
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!

Happy Poets, M'Alice! It's just Poets, not Poets Day (POETS stands for: P**s off early, tomorrow's Saturday). There was a big debate here, that since we're not recognizing Saturday as a name, and it's now Doobry that Poets didn't fit anymore. The great unwashed masses rose up and "voted" for Poets, anyway!
Today is Poets the 13th, I suppose ...

You don't have to write poems, but if you feel the urge to spew some poetry, feel free! :-P Why not stop by the No No No!!! thread ... http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F63252?thread=100492 That's where the crew usually hangs out. There's a lot of backlog, but it's not too bad, and it will give you an idea of what's going on around here ... if you don't want to wade through it, click on the last red LED dot in the upper right, and it will take you to the end of the conversation. :-)

Hmm... I think maybe all holiday day names should probably stay the same... can you imagine saying "Maudy Thing" or "Easter Dontbry"? Just because those *are* their names... sort of how Christmas is just the name of the day... "Good Friday" would always fall on a Poet. The poor writer... *squished*. (I didn't try that, that's why it doesn't make much sense).
What's going on there is a bunch of insanity by the High Council for Thingitism... and a bunch of them are digging a tunnel, though I can't for the life of me figure out *exactly* why...

Amy, Amy, Amy ... if you keep flitting in and out to avoid all the hard work, you're going to miss some things!
We're digging the tunnel to work our way through the basement of the Towers so we can make our demands on TPTB to change the names of the days of the week, and to get a smiley.

His Lordship did actually summarise why a couple of days back. Basically it all boils down this:
We're digging from the Strand Underpass into the basement of Bush House (the new Towers) where we intend to storm the h2g2 offices, hold the italics and moderators to ransom, and force Mark Moxon to use his immense influence at the Beeb to make them change the days of the week. So far we have succeeded in causing two tunnel collapses, a breach of the London sewer system, the destruction of a perfectly good JCB and, I suspect, severe traffic problems in the vicinity of Aldwych and Waterloo Bridge.
Now this plan may seem convoluted to you but actually it's terribly devious and cunning... honest. Well, me and Shea thought so when we thought it up late one night. And I *was* very, very ....

Ah, the light has gone on in my head! I understand now... I only got bits and pieces of the whole story before, despite my asking several times exactly *what* was going on... it all make sense.
And I'm flitting in and out because of hard work... not because I want to avoid it but because I have far too much of it right now in RL...
As for hard work... I love it. I could watch other people work for hours.

M'Alice, half of us are in America, that's why it makes it so difficult to actually get together to tunnel!
And once you head over to the proper thread, you will be outfitted with your Thingite Titanium Spork from our Master at Arms!
