that's helpful.
Like where it has the posts in brackets, in my space if there are no posts for 3n it says minus 39; as posts build up the numbers work there way up to zero. Does nobody else experience this then?

Mine currently says "-83 new posts"!
There was a time when we had no idea how many new posts there were, only that someone had posted since our last posting. The number of new posts is a relatively new innovation, but obviously something that hasn't had all the bugs worked out yet.

at least its consistent...
I mean if no new posts was 39 one day and 42 the next you'd not be able to tell how many new ones there really are...
I'm gonig to try something though...

I think the thing saying how many new postings there were started along about the time they started the single sign on... and that had so many bugs in it when it started that Jim Lynn may be ages before he gets the number of new postings worked out.
There seems to be a certain number of total postings on a thread after which the number of new ones reverts to a negative number, but I don't know what that total number of postings might be - haven't figured it out yet.

I quite like it - for ages I thought it was a deliberate thingite joke.

I know there's not a certain number because threads liek the war strategy room and the BoE start at -1, but don't have nearly as many posts as some other ones......
actually... there might be... but if there's anything with about 3000 posts that doesn't have a negative then thats not it.
the posting numbers did start with the SSO, that was a new feature then... I quite like it myself...

The 3N listing on my page tells me there is 1 new post ... and you mean to tell me that's it, ER? Your writing effort is astonishing.
I say we vote ER as 3N's most prolific story writer!

Mine says (no new posts).
Maybe if you guys would keep up with reading your backlog, you wouldn't have that problem!
