Isn't it traditional to leave minors outside the pub with a can of irn bru and a packet of crisps to keep them going

Why are we all so worried about miners anyway? I don't know anyone on h2g2 who works down a mine.

He he he, I can just see it now, sending someone out with crisps and juice, and asking the bouncers to keep an eye on them
As for miners, well....

Do they have virtual lawn bowling as well?
I'd have to advise against snooker, I'll be there for weeks, but any other sort of thing is fine by me. Any thoughts as to which pub we want to be thrown out of?

If everyone that signs up to the gathering is of legal drinking age, then there's no problem. I'm just keeping the possibility in view at the moment. After all, we do tend to drift off towards the more beverage-related activities fairly early.
Not that I really mind, though.

A great pub for those lovers of decent beer (and also a place large enough to take a big gathering in a seperate room) is the Cumberland Bar in ... Cumberland Street (in the Old Town). If I were coming, that's certainly a place I'd like to go.

Does that mean that if we get a room of our own, that we can be as loud as we want, without getting those meaningful looks of disapproval from the rest of the guests?

True. When we got told off at the Standing Order last time round, it had the effect that we started laughing uncontrollably instead of quieting down. Which made the others even more annoyed, I would suspect.

Someone really ought to write a report on this for the Post. Any volunteers? (I really can't at the mo' far too much work to do )

Okay, I thought that I could think of something witty to write here, but as my brain is not functioning properly at the moment, I couldn't come up with anything to say about the meet-up in Edinburgh.
Key: Complain about this post
