AMC has a dinner theater?
oooo...
Well, both of those are great suggestions. Dave & Buster's might be better, just because it would give the crew more time to hang out. Tellya what, everyone that's interested (assuming that there are more than just the two of us reading this thread) drop us a line here.
Any preference as to when? I assume weekday afternoons are out, since most real people have jobs & stuff. Also, I'll likely be coming with my dad, but you guys would like him. He's essentially me if I were twice my age.

I'm not quite sure. My job is the opposite of everyone elses. I work nights and weekends. Personally, I perfer weeknights since the crouds wouldn't be so bad. I reckon that early on a Saturday would be good.

define "early"
early as in 6:00am or early as in 1:00pm?
remember, we college students operate on an altogether different clock from the rest of the world. heh heh

I wasthinkig 4 or 5 in the afternoon. It doesn't matter so much, but I have to leave by 8:00 to make it to work.
Right now, I'm not quite sure which week would be good for me. My dad is coming into town, but I forget when it is.

Direction to Dave & Buster's are easy. Just take I-75 North from I-285. After a few minutes you'll see this big honkin' sign for D&B to the left of the interstate, right next to which is the building. It's kinda huge, so it's a bit hard to miss. I can't get the exit number for you until this Sunday, though, since I'll be in Athens this weekend. I'll make a note of it on my way back.
Dates are kind up in the air. I like the time, and pretty much any day is good for me. Howabout next Saturday, the 28th?
Since I'll probably be bringin' my dad, Two-bit might as well bring his. It could be like paternal show & tell.
heh heh

The exit number is 261. Take a left at the top of the ramp, cross the bridge, and Dave & Busters is on your immediatte left. Simple.

The 28th sounds good. I don't think I have anything else going on.

I just put this notice on the top of the SEURG Mark II site:
The first meet of SEURG is going to be at Dave & Busters just north of Atlanta on Saturday July 28, 2001 at 4:30pm.

I don't know. Is there a host? We could ask the host to direct people to the researchers table.
I've thought about maybe posting my cell number or pager number in an article where I could supress it after the meet.

actually, it shouldn't be too hard to get found. We could just wait around in the same general area. Also, I'm not that hard to spot. I'm about 6'2" 210lbs., and I've got a wicked long ponytail. Plus, if my dad is there with me, we'll look like a before & after photo of someone that just swallowed a rapid-aging pill.
I've got a picture online, too, if ya need it. It's on the [URL removed by moderator], linked off of my H2G2 page.

Do you have a conversational links page or something where you can show the link to the picture?

Spoo Monkey Posted Jul 27, 2001
well, it's on my h2g2 page, but you have to go looking for it. Plus, wehn I gave the address I think I neglected to mention what my actual name is (gee, that'd probably help in identifying my picture, wouldn't it?).
My name is Charlie, btw.
here's a quick way to a picture:

I'm the one on the far right. You can't tell from the picture, but I've got hair about 2 ft. long.

Man! The "no outside links" policy sure makes this place a little less vibrant! *wondering abtusely how sporky got all his graphics on his page*
Seems to me like there was more going on IN the forums when you could get OUT from them! heh.
Sorry you won't be able to make it Monsy- but I don't know if I can either! The no=wheels thing (though I'm about to get a VAN to drive about town with in a week or so)...
Anywaze, I'll try to get there if I can- if I can't all you guys have fun! I know you will!

Right now, I don't think I'll be able to make it either. I had to get up at 10:00am to go get my cat out of the vet clinic, and I need to get some rest, clean some uniforms and the house before work tonight. I don't think I can take out four hours to go to the north side.
I'm sorry.
Dragon Con is coming up during Labor Day. That'll probably be our best bet for getting more than two or three people together at a time.
My wife has volunteered for me to go. We're probably going to be renting a room in the con hotel if we can find some people to split the rent with. I don't think we can afford it, but she insists.

aww...
actually, I'm disappointed for all the wrong reasons. It looks like I'm going to be able to go, either.
My dad lives on a great big hill, and this morning we had a mudslide. Those days of rain built up a lot of water behind the garden's retaining wall, and then it rained again this morning, which was enough to cause the old rotted wood to buckle. A shame, really. And here I was planning on using Dave and Buster's as an excuse not to do yard work. Oh, well...
DragonCon is still a good idea. The first idea, as I recall.
