Yet Another busy day in the Snug
Kes Posted Nov 11, 2003
Lil! Cancel the sausage sarnie - make it one of those dribbly molten cheese goo things, please.

Didn't we have a new customer a couple of months ago? What happened to her?
*serves up grilled cheese sandwiches*

Tefkat Posted Nov 11, 2003
She lost her head over the speed of the service

*Places all but one sandwich on the bar. Passes plate with the one sandwich to Tefkat. Watches sandwiches spread across bar. Tries to pry one of them loose*
Can I borrow your spatula for a mo, Lil?

Mmmmmmmm, Cheese sarnies! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm *nicks the toasties off the bar and scoffs the lot, burning lips and tounge at the same time.* Beeeeeerrrrrrrrr noooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

*sets up a couple more sandrwiches and slides one onto a plate before it escapes, and hands the plate to Kes*
*to Zantic* These aren't free, you know. Nothing's free in here except the cigarette ends.

*waves the medical bill from the last time she ate Lil's toasties*
I told you, I'll start paying for food and drink once you lot settle this!
*grabs another toastie and slinks back to the fire*

*enters, pleased to see a cat with cheese-locked lips scratching away at the remants of several sarnies roughly equal to at least one percent of its body weight*
I got the sign done up.
I added a bit at the end.
*holds up sign*
"...the slowest service in the Universe. Ever."
And a bit at the beginning.
*removes finger from fine print that precedes the main slogan*
"At the BOF INN, we are committed
to the eternal struggle of maintaining..."
I could paint that out if ideas like 'eternal' and 'committment' seem a bit over the top. How about just 'Dedicated to the maintenance of the slowest service in the Universe. Ever.'?

Where did you get the plaid paint?
Yet Another busy day in the Snug
Munchkin Posted Nov 12, 2003
The removal of the word commitment would be appreciated. It brings me out in a rash. As does this sausage marinade actually.

*Inspects the label of the bottle*
No, no, Lil put the marinade in the bottle labelled "Brasso" ... this one says "Draino" ...

You're looking in the cleaning cupboard. The marinade is in the pantry, next to the paraffin for the heater.

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Nov 16, 2003
*little old lady enters*
*sigh*
*sits down on a bar stool*
Well, the harvest festival seems to have entered a Sleeping Beauty sleep...
Bartender! I'd like a G&T and then I'd like to settle my tab, please!
*looks around, prepared to give anyone who doubted she'd ever settle her tab The Look*

Did you know that plaid is the only pettern not found in nature.
It's true. And not just because of the colour patterns; the basic desin of intersecting lines of woven cloth is 'un-natural'.
Yep.
Y'can find circles and arrows and squares and crosses and domes and minarets and pyramids and cubes and ovals and triangles and parallelagrams and coils and cones and even rhumboids in nature. But not plaid. Plaid is the work of aliens or the devil.
Add one more to that lady's tab before she settles then wouldja my good man, make it a double and one for yer-own-self.
