I am glad he's gone.**
(Cheerfully, in over eager anticipation of the opportunity to spill gravy down his tie, and rather overwhelmed by his sparkling wit) Can I have some? Please. Lots of gravy.
** This is a rather intricate pun which requires a fairly extensive knowledge of brands of antacid. I apologise.

Aha! The lunch has arrived!
*Inspects the dish*
Is the batter supposed to be moving like that? .... just asking ......
THE SNUG
Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Oct 16, 2002
*administers a couple of spatula whacks*
Moving? Well, yes, I made it move just now. It won't move any more.

Kes Posted Oct 16, 2002

[X and Zero warp in.]
[Zero] Uh, hi. We're looking for the Earl of Lucan.
[X] He's a Jello ... Anyone seen him?
THE SNUG
Kes Posted Oct 17, 2002
(Whispers to staff and regulars)
Say nothing until the Lucan guy has paid for all the food & drink! ....

*Freshens her gloss on her lips and sits attentively next to the still slumbering Earl. *
He's bought us all lunch, and a big round of drinks. He is just the nicest person! Not stuck up at all. And such a good snorer too.
*Sips her sherry and wonders why there are what look to her through her bifocals like raisins in the Toad-in-the-Hole?*

IctoanAWEWawi Posted Oct 17, 2002
Has all the toad and all the hole gone yet?
an t'would be good too.

The Vegetable in the Iron Mask Posted Oct 17, 2002
...where's that smell of gasoline coming from?....
...what are you doing with those matches, Woody?...
...NO! NO! NOT MY TREEHOUSE!
*Wakes up in a cold sweat, looks around frantically, disoriented. Realizes where he is and slowly calms down.*
Just had a horrible nightmare. I dreamed I was 8 years old again and reliving......
Well, never mind.
*Looks down at the plastic salad container he is crushing in his hands. Releases the pressure and gently prods the container back into shape. Looks at the shredded celery inside the container with a mixture of wistfulness and relief. Gets up out of the chair he was sitting in and noticing that the company he had arrived with has left, turns to leave. Sees the passed-out Earl and smiles.*
Thank you for your hospitality, Barman. I hope to see you again.
*Bows to the room and exits*

What a strange old fruit. Or veg, or something ... So, Wales Italy, who'd a thunk it?

Oh, how I miss world football. That games was advertised on satellite as pay-per-view. They wanted $19.95. How much might a ticket cost to the real game? And who won?
THE SNUG
IctoanAWEWawi Posted Oct 17, 2002
I'm sorry? 20 quid to watch wales get their *rse kicked?
I think not!
So, barman, how fulls the cnal outside? And has it iced over yet?
THE SNUG
Munchkin Posted Oct 17, 2002
Twenty Dollars!! It is these sort of prices that stop me watching any decent rugby. I just get relegated to the free BBC Scotland games which I watch purely for patriotic reasons, and because it gives me a reason to drink heavily.
Anyway, nice to see that no one else can believe that Wales actually won. Oh, and before anyone asks, no we are not getting a TV and sport in here. You can go out on the terrace and watch the cricket in the summer and the curling in the winter. Which, if the old wives tales are to believed, ought to be a doozy of a winter this year, apparently. So no more fooling around at the fire.

Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Oct 17, 2002
[X] Hm ... If Lucan not paying is the only thing stopping him leaving, I could cover it.
[Zero] You think you can get away with it?
[X] Oh, come on, if Signas gripes about funds, let's just tell him we thought it would help us get allies against the Mavericks.
THE SNUG
Munchkin Posted Oct 17, 2002
You are willing to pay Well, lets see now, he was quite a heavy spender. Splendid chap rightly. There was the bottle of champagne, the caviar, the special malt for Toc's brewery. Anything else I have forgotten?
