if santa was very very tiny, like way less than a micrometer, then perhaps he could exist as a quantum particle...

Religions are born out of of cults, you can not slag them off for having the bottle to start a group.
I can disagree with them in the same why people disagree with realiaens who've also had the "bottle' to start a group."

hasselfire, "it would be a happy day that peaceful aliens landed " i think not, the main % of the human race r in nice words, stupid, they would cause total choas over the whole world, reliogens would be trying to tell their believers that the aliens r the work of the devil, for god made humans as a reflection of himself (for anyone that believes this theory, what r animals then?? they dont look like us) there would be all these people starting cult to worship the aliens as god, and my biggest belief, why would aliens want to visit earth? they would have studdied it first and seen how disruptive we are and were, with wars and stuff, the would know that insteed of us trying to be peacefull to them, all the violent countries (iraq etc) would want the aliens planets for there own, insteed of peace, for humans are very greedy and stupid when there is a great treasure at stake, the aliens would probably have evolved past fighting and thought more about space travel, so would see us as a primitive race who they would not want to visit and would probably think animals are more civilized than us.
so to conclude, i dont think that aliens would want to visit earth, and also i think the chance of them finding us r astronomical

I think that religions, all of them, were born from the same thing.
They got translated into different languages etc and got changed, sort of like Chinese Whispers.
If you look at many religious stories, they have many commonalities.
The creation stories are very similar.
There is talk of a god or gods.
They all teach about common values etc etc.
Maybe there was a god, or at least someone who appeared to be a god.
Someone very powerful or intelligent and s/he was seen as some sort of prophet or something.
There is no reason why Jesus or Allah could not have been a real person in history.
Over the past 2000 years, stories may well have been changed and corrupted in the process of things being passed down from generation to generation and translated into different languages.
I don't think we should start talking about religions as we might offend people. I, myself, am not religious but I know that a number of people who use this site are.
We will never know if our ideas are correct, or justified and so this discussion is kind of pointless. We are all arguing and I get the impression that, and I might be worng here, that I have offended Annie. If I have mate it was not intentional.
Take care and I hope you are well.

I agree with you, this is not my scenerio it belongs to realiens.
In our history there doesn't seem to be any examples of peaceful, friendly invasions. I can't think of any 'advanced ' culture on earth doing anything for the indigious populations of countries they have decided to make their own.

No offence taken Amanda. Honest and I hope none taken from me
I think my point is that religion is the thing that made the changes to the commonality you talker about and i agree with. You know ganging together and taking sides about what words mean and then having a punch up about who is right about what the words mean.
I disagree with any idea that a particular religion is the one that get's the free pass to paradise and everyone else get's a version of hell. That is unacceptable to me.
I suppose that particular thing is my bugbear agaisnt formalised religions.

consensus of opinion was that the brain operates like a quantum computer and that there is evidence that the mind is a separate thing to the brain.
there was a telephone number given out which I'm going to call

i think i'll try and find something to link to or cut and paste to explain the separation thing. some of it goes over my head, when it gets to a quamtum level and i might make a mistake telling you it.
