Heathen Sceptic

"No..... I believe it goes beyond the sexual titivation aspect. More to do with the old libido and prhistoric tribal orgasmic celebration."

Not in Wicca, OO! Sex was usually confined to the High Priest and the High Priestess. smiley - sadface Though, rumour has it that any number of High Priestesses run through a great deal of amazingly young and nubile 'High Priests'. smiley - biggrin

When we saw a doco featuring this activity some time around May this year, we just could not believe our eyes! Bizarre, horrible and quite sad. The doco featured a bloke who was obsessed with the practice. smiley - erm

The term "dogging" should be forwarded to the OED for assessment.
It obviously has become part of the vernacular!

Given Ron Davies activities the gay equivilent should be known as "badgering" smiley - smiley

Hi All smiley - biggrin

Let's see if we can steer back towards the road shall we?

Has anyone here read Laurence Gardner's "Bloodlines of the Holy Grail"?

Before you all roll your eyes and start muttering "hippy grail nonsense", it has nothing to do with the fabled cup. It is actually a quite dry and scholarly work that uses contemporary documentation to propose that Jesus never died on the cross, but went on to live quite a lot longer and three children with Mary the Magdalene. Facts that have been actively suppressed by the mainstream churches because it would invalidate the line of apostolic succession set up by Paul and Peter.

Indeed it rather undermines the whole basis for christianity as we know it. As a druid I am of course always sceptical of such claims but am trying to access the documentary resources he quotes to see for myself.

What do you all think?

Blessings,
Matholwch /|\.

Well Malt, I don't know much about religion so I'll just read.
Alji are you suggesting the said wood is a suitable meeting site for alternative get togethers!

Hi Alji smiley - smiley,

Thanks for the links I have bookmarked them. But what do you think of the theories they propose?

I think what you are looking for mihgt be found in raves.

Lots of dancing people half undressed and sweaty, painted and dressed up in all sorts of unconventional stuff. I have happy memories of "house of god" and tribal-house/Goa style raves, meeting similarly undressed and sweaty women who want to find another way of having fun rather than dancingsmiley - winkeye

And its all legal (unlike dogging) the best ones to go to are free raves like the ones that are organised by independent record companies and bands/sound systems. They have them on beaches and anywhere they can get permission really. If I can find out whats happening for the winter soltice parties if any I'll get back to you.

Well... it all sounds a bit weird. I've been unfortunate enough to have completely avoided not spotting several young couples dans le heavy petting while walking in woods, or even once in the middle of a crowded quadrangle, but I never considered that they actually wanted to be seen.

Whatever floats your boat, personally it's a bit minging if you don't want to see it! smiley - ill

Jordan. I recall running through the long grass behind the sand dunes at Prestatyn when I was about nine. I suddenly came upon a couple and had to leap over them. Fortunately they were sideways on to me. I barely saw them and it's questionable whether they saw me. Odd that I still recall it so much later. I was mostly just startled at encountering an unexpected obstruction!

DA ; Simply Vicky: Don't get pithy with me!

I did have a quick read of it in about 1997, I think it was. I was not convinced - it was very information dense, and I may read it again if I can get it (library, of course - I can very seldom *buy* books...
