thanks! MY holiday is quite over. I went to Ottawa for Canada day this weekend. I love Ottawa!
mmm, that sounds good, but not too stiff! I don't suppose... Purple Haze martini? (I could have SWORN there used to be a martini smiley!!! Wasn't there? I mean I never USED it, but I thought... I must be going insane!)

Mmmm ... Jimi still rules ... OK!
*Looks up the recipe, rummages among the bottles on the back shelf, and mixes*
I hope that's about it! ... sorry about the glass! I never got to Canada when I was in the US ... wish I had!

Oh it's a great place! I mean, I live here, so I may be a little biased, and there're a lot of OTHER great places I'd LOVE to see! Australia, Italy, Monaco, France, Germany... most of them are in Europe I guess... but I do love Canada. You should make the trip one day, but if you ever do, don't limit it to one area of the country cuz you'd be missing so much! lol
Thanks so much for the martini. I'm not picky about the glass. hehe if I can drink wine from a coffee mug, I can drink martini from a... is that a tumbler or a shot glass? Well, whatever! I'm in a purple haze... ahhh... strawberries and cream and alcohol...
So what have you been up to? I'm making slow (really slow) progress with the Eminem and Angel articles... you'd be surprised how difficult it is to get concrete information on angels! And did you know there's NO BIO of Elvis Presley on this Guide?! Gah!
Crossed Purposes: July 2001
Kes Posted Jul 5, 2001
No Elvis Bio????!!!!!!!! You're right! That is a surprise. Did you get any offers of help from the h2g2 angels? I didn't hear much back from them ....

*AaDragonfly's kiss awakened Pandora. Just in time to watch Gwennie unwrapping herself from the doggies* "Deary, we are to grow old GRACEFULLY...or hadn't you heard?"
Oh it's so nice to be amongst friends. (IRL) I had a party today for about 25-30 people. Family was the first wave...the friends came just after the last car left. The children played in the pool and complained when I made them get out when their lips were purple & the were shivering. AAAAAHHHHHH....I'm an adult!!!!
Pardon...just a bit of reality check there...now I'm wanting children ...again...It's just that EVERYthing amazes them
Hello Kumetanzuka. I'd love to tell you some of the things I know from first-hand knowledge. I've had ESP all my life. And Since last June 17 I've been able to reunite the living with those who have 'crossed over'. I'm a mental health professional...and have been tested three times with regegard to this topic. So, I'm not loopy...well. okay, I am loopy...just not 'clinically'. If you have anything you'd like to ask me I'd tell you what I know. Although I will say, that even though I have indeed spoken to many different 'energys', there's still much to learn. You can reach me at:
[email protected]
I only know what I know. I won't try to 'fill in' details.
My clients all call 'it' a gift. But it surely isn't something I would have picked out for myself! HA!
Those of you e-mailing me at my other address is still fine. HA!
When pirate found out about my second E-mail address he said
that he'd caught me "cheating" on him! Now you all know how much I adore that scurvey, er, erm...that manly man.
Speaking of "cheating" *giggle*...has anyone heard from Sultandude lately? It's been over a week that he's E'd me. I do tend to worry about him as he reminds me of myselfin SOME ways, least ways. *goes to the jukebox & plays 'Whiter Shade Of Pale'. The song that reminds her of S'Dude*
I see we've gotten a new jukebox! Loverly!

Grow old gracefully? NO WAY! When I grow old (and I reserve the right not to recognise that I have) ... I will be the sort of person that my children deny all knowldge of in public, but secretly admire ...... Have an olive with a large amount of very dry martini warapped around it, Pan!

Lady K!!! hi hi hi hi!!!
Pandora
ESP is indeed... herrrmmm.... "ES A PUZZLEMENT" as Yul Brenner would say... My mom used to have dreams that would come true, and intuition runs strong among the women of the family. I believe EVERYONE has SOME insight into OTHER things... we're just afraid to tap into it, or we tend to dismiss the little signs...
I hope Sultandude ES ok!!! ES A PUZZLEMENT where he is....
And my growing old plans include never dying my hair as it grays-- first of all, I like to be true in appearance, and second of all, my brother highlighted my hair with blonde in March I think it was... and he did it with a cap, and that was PAINFUL!!! ARGH!!! Ummm... not that I would hide my gray with the same torturous technique, but...

Hey, it's good to see you all.
*guilty grin*
When the conversation jumped threads after the first month back, it was a week into the new thread by the time I noticed, and I didn't get back into it until now!
Hey St. D! How are you? I hope you're doing good, and your fishies too, etcetera, etcetera, and so forth! *wink*
The embassy is progressing slowly but fairly steadily on the English language page. I'm just finishing all the coding as I get the chance. In the area of purpose, it is sorely lacking since the CHANGE. Any help and suggestions would be wonderful! *hint, nudge* Beyond that, simply alerting people to its existence will become a priority when it's complete.
As for the angel article, I have had two responses to it, but neither of the GAs seems to know what to contribute, and after the first couple times I got back to them, I haven't added anything, and they haven't either. I don't know. I'd be happy to hear what you have to say, Pan. I don't know what sort of information your esp would give you. Do you have a general knowledge of the nature of these things, or is it specific cases??
ooh, that one was long! I'm parched! Could I ask you for a Kahlua and chocolate milk, Kes?

Wow, a formal introduction for little ol' me?? Well thanks Kes. (And yes, chocolate milk with a flavourful dash of kahlua for me, if you would!)
Hi mari-rae, nice to meet you! Yes, indeed, I am all for multilingualism. The Zaphodistas (with whom I had become somewhat disillusioned, but have found faith in once again) have a new petition out. This one has had some constructive effort put into it, and rather than a rant, it's now a pretty good statement of our hopes for the site. If you're interested:

St D., , glad to hear about the fishies. Why is it cats always look at me with interest no matter how i try discourage it?? Hello Sophocles.

Art for art's sake, Lady K. I sometimes get enthusiastic at the conceptual stage but then the stuff disappears off into peer review or whatever, and what emerges from that is down to the gauleiters of the organisation. Once something goes into committe, it's a lost cause don't you think ?.
Crossed Purposes: July 2001
Kumetanzuka the capricious Posted Jul 7, 2001
Well Seth, I've little to no experience with the sub-ed stream of the Guide, this being the one and only article I've written so far that is at all informative to the general public! But if you mean in general, I well know what you mean! Have you ever written, say, a scholarly essay in which you carefully and VERY deliberately inserted a piece of creative genius which worked very nicely with your topic, style, and tone, only to have the teacher/prof/marker tear it apart or -- worse -- tell you to get rid of it!?
I agree with you, art for art's sake. However, although I often create things for the sole enjoyment of my own creative instincts, sometimes I do create things for others, and it IS nice when those things are appreciated, don't you think? Or at least put to use in the manner for which they were designed! *g*
At any rate, I was just curious this time, not looking for gratification. Do YOU know anything about Eminem, Elvis Presley, or Angels, by any chance??

mari-rae(tee reads: (entangled in cardboard boxes, please send tape...) Posted Jul 7, 2001
Its very nice to meet you, Lady K. I agree that multilingualism should be allowed on the h2g2 site. Do you think BBC cares what we propose, though?
Bye,! Have fun on your vacation!
Thank you, Kes. I would like a nice glass of red wine, please.
