Hey Kes, as I'm always trying to learn something new (esp. things you can use IRL ), I would like to start a search for words and phrases around drinking.
Who knows some decent phrases for the process of drinking? What can I do with a or a ?
Drink it?
Pour it down?
Suck it back?
Send it down the tonsill trail?
Any inspiration is appreciated.

Jeremy, my friend, are we talking english only here or will other languages do justice too?
Please hand me a couple of ing 's - and a handfull of 's to wash them down with, there's a good lad.

I neeeeeeed a drink. I'm tired. I've been away IRL for 4 days. Disconnected from my PC. What do you suggest? What helps in this case?

This is an extreme case! I recommend a PGGB (Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster), and I just happen to have one handy ... here you are ...
A few words of warning .... don't have more than one; don't go near any naked lights .... and don't spill it on the bar - it melts the varnish!
Prosit! (Or whatever toast you prefer)

Thank you Kes, you just saved my life!

My pleasure. I sympathise - I know how unpleasant the RW can be ... especially when it keeps you away from h2g2 ... and, by the way, may I say how much I enjoyed spending time in your cactus garden. it was far more colourful and far less spiky than I had expected.

Cacti are nice if you treat them properly. If you keep them sober and dry, if you make them compliments they could be very cute. They could even let you tickle them. But only when they are sober.
So for good sake of the cacti we should consume all The Liquids around here. What's the best to start after PGGB? Not another one as I understood.
*flips away a not very sober cactus which is climbing out of her pocket*

Hmmm . Well, for abovious reasons, we'll not try (whispers very quietly, so the cactus won't hear) Tequila ... I think we should have something more dilute. Do you like lager? We have some leftovers from Oktoberfest - still good, or Pilsner Prasdroj ...?

Hati Posted Nov 13, 2000
Pilsner Prasdroj sounds good, I haven't tasted it ever before (for geopolitical reasons I guess). So I have to trust you. As about the T..., cacti are not so close friends to the agaves. Still - you never know... Attention is appreciated.

Ah! I have a great liking for that beer! I visited the brewery in Plzen once. Yes - I forgot about the politics ... now I remember that the Czechs labelled it "Urquell" when they sold it into West Germany .... I'm glad the world is a little simpler now.

Here it goes!
Pilsner is often good, I like lighter beers better. This one is to be taken seriously. Even at 9.30 a.m.
I have to write down the names to it. In case I meet it IRL.

Did I hear Lager? Pilsner? Tequila?

Just in case anyone's interested: We had a citizen's poll in my hometown yesterday (No really important topic, just a whole day of work for me). I was in charge of one of the polling stations (open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, votes counted at 6:05 PM (by hand, try to beat that, Florida ), official polling result document engrossed at 6:15 PM).
There were 45 polling stations, and guess what: Mine was # 42 !

It just had to be that number! Nice one, Jeremy.
*Pours another Pilsener*

Yes, Sir, it's my first today!
I think today is an excellent day for another birthday memorial:
Robert Louis Stevenson, writer of "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" was born 150 years ago on Nov 13th 1850. I raise my to one of the greats of literature!
RIP, Mr. Stevenson, may your books be read until the end of time!

If you're interested, you can find some other movie-related dates at http://us.imdb.com/OnThisDay?day=13&month=November.
But take care: The IMDB is highly addictive for movie maniacs!
