Sorry Tweetie, simulpost. Excellent news!
That makes about 8. Perhaps we need to push this more?
(ammendment to name for a week, methinks)

I put a plug on the "Scottish Researchers" entry about a week ago. Unfortunately, I get the feeling that once people have signed up to that thread they don't read it again. However, it does give us a list of Scottish researchers whose homepages we could leave invitations on, if anybody feels up to the task...? Volunteers?

I've never seen that page. Where is it?

Funnily enough, Peet, that was my original idea, but RL hasn't left me much time recently, so I have never got around to looking, but I am quite happy to drop by some pages and leave a message

Babel, thanks - I've been laid up with the 'flu for a couple of days, and don't feel up to heavy thinking yet... :-) Tweetie, it's at http://www.h2g2.com/F25628?thread=26393

It's advertised on the front page, Shazz is advertising it in this week's h2g2 Post, and I've already changed my name!

This is funny.. I seem to be the only one in here during the day, and then at night time, the forum explodes with new entries.
First thing's first: Good news to hear that you're coming, Tweetie. You seem to have sensible parents, trusting your call on a get-together like this.
Second: Hope you get that job, and that your parents are as sensible as Tweetie's, LiG.
Third: For the first time since I registered, I have decided, for the sake of the cause, change my name to get the word out to, hopefully, some people about the gathering.
And that's about it, really.. Don't have much more to say, and therefor I'll stop.

Now everyone on the Editorial team would really, really like to come along to the Edinburgh meet. But unfortunately there's no way that we can make Saturday the 5th August. We've got a prior engagement; it's a 'significant birthday' weekend for a key member of the h2g2 team, and we'll all be otherwise 'indisposed'. Probably very indisposed...
Can you remind me on my page on about the 27th/28th of July, and I'll put up a front page link, in order to try to attract more people to your party.
I'm really sorry. If you ever do another one, email me or post a message on my page.

Sorry to hear you guys can't come up Peta.
Stil there will be a few ACE's there, so it should be a laugh, and worry not, if all goes well, there will be plenty more I'm sure

*folds arms, taps foot and looks stern*
Whose birthday could *possibly* be more important than our get-together?

Well MM would count as significant. It's propably a three line whip. That is if they aren't locked in the bad cupboard at the Towers.
Key: Complain about this post
