Yeesch, I can only do until about the 13th of August, and I may be in a deep dark pit of depression after the 10th (exam results *shudder*).

Well, after the 24th of this month, but before the 10th of August, is a pretty reasonable window of opportunities to get something together, don't you think? Well, at least it's two weekends between those dates.

Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.)

The format of the London get-togethers involves a non-drinking event in the afternoon (usually a game of rounders/softball) before retiring to the pub in the evening, so if we do that anyone who's too young to drink could come to the afternoon event.
Anyone know any good pubs in Edinburgh?

That format seems to be a good one, with the non-drinking event in the afternoon.
Personally, I have no clue whatsoever of any good pubs in Edinburgh. The three times I've been in Edinburhg, I was there for reasons other than drinking, so... *shrugs*

Cool, though I wish I could do the late night drinking thing.
*sigh*
Oh well, if this becomes an annual thing then maybe I'll get there one day smiley - smiley

Hmm.. I'm tempted to join you all (I'll be back home in Ireland by then), and a trip to Scotland in August might be just what I need. A ferry (or cheap flight) and a youth hostel shouldn't take too much out of my monthly budget should it??

I wouldn't think that it should set you back too much. You could always check with Demon Drawer for trips over from Ireland.

Damn! I'd be there in a flash - just one small problem - I live in Melbourne (Orstalya) - (but was born in Stirling, so I guess that makes me a "Jock - Aussie"). Any chance of passing the hat round for the airfare ?
Seriously folks, I hope it takes off and you all have a great time, though I don't think you'll remember much about it ! Sob,sniffle, it's hell down here in the Antipodes when monster booze-ups are happening up there !!

ARSE!!!!!! Why do people always arrange these things when I am somewhere else! Interestingly, I am actually due to fly to Glasgow on the Saturday the twelfth of August (Grouse Shooters providing) so, if it were that night, I could probably make the pub.

Okay, the dates I mentioned are in no way set as dates for the get-together!! I was merely commenting on a time frame that could possibly suit a majority of people. I do apologise for any misunderstandings my previous comment may have caused.

Grrrrr, I'm gonna be like the youngest person there, right (16, FYI).
So, I'll not be able to drink, and I'll be the youngest there smiley - sadface

Pencil me in (lightly) on the remote chance I'll have any money...

(I could afford the train fare OR the drinking on any given Giro, but generally not both... smiley - sadface)

Tweetie, there is a slight possibility that you won't be the youngest. At least not if Halo (Patron saint of Lucky Charms) can work around her parents to be able to come along, she will be the youngest.

Peet, just get there, and I'm sure the drinking issue will somehow get solved.smiley - smiley

Halo.... Halo...
Now where do I know that name from?
Oh right- being her sister smiley - winkeye
Mmmm, well she's a year and a half younger than me, so I'm doubting she'll be allowed (although don't tell her I said that- sorry sweetie, if you see this smiley - smileysmiley - smiley).
Though, if it's in Glasgow then we could stay with our grandmother, so that's a possibility...
Hope it's in Edinburgh smiley - winkeye
(Again, really sorry *g*)

*LOL* Okay, I guess you're right. She did say that she probably wouldn't be allowed anyhow, so I guess she's out of the guest list.
