Oooooo. Pretty!
I've brought the WWII air craft carrier that was purchased from eBay a couple of years ago for the mere sum of $1.48 USD ... the vessel belongs to Clan Thing, but I've stolen it for this special occasion. The ship has been entirely covered in purple, green and gold sequins that glitter in the light in dazzling fashion. Yes, it's a little difficult to steer this thing on dry land, but we have an exceptionally burly man working at the rudder, so you needn't worry. Teams of colorfully-costumed marching bands are drumming and playing jazz on deck, moving in tight formations and pausing between numbers to toss goodies overboard to throngs of cheering onlookers. All in all, it's a pretty sweet (and exceptionally heavy) float. Watch your toes, people!

Thank you very much. Mmmmm. Mmmmmm!
Do you think the aircraft carrier might be a little large for Bourbon Street?

If we land them now, they'll take out the marching bands ... most of them will be smooshed completely.

I'm sure Bourbon Street will cope.

*turns the float slightly to make the next stage of the parade route*

You mean the kind of chocolate coins they wrap in gold foil... which need to be unwrapped with the patience normally reserved for opening new Compact Discs?

Will ya look at this mess? Beads, and cake crumbs all over the place! You'd think Mardi Gras was all over with instead of just beginn...
Oh wait, did I miss it again?
I really gotta start setting an alarm clock...
