How exactly does one become ACE? Do they just drop it on you one day, or do you apply, or what?
Strider Pitch 909
Galen Posted Feb 2, 2002
you have to apply and they put you on a waiting list
i have been on the scout waiting list for awhile, but i am second in line now, so it should be relatively soon that i get mine!

Bob: If you go to the home pages of any of the volunteer schemes (just click on one of the badges), you'll find pages telling you what those people do, and how to become one.
Galen: Scout. I'm the one ahead of you.

Galen Posted Feb 2, 2002

I still feel like a newbie, so I don't think I'll start signing up for official stuff yet.
Strider Pitch 909
Evil Zombie Strider Posted Feb 4, 2002
That's probably for the best. The only reason I signed up as early as I did was because I was spending so much freakin time on h2g2 that I stopped being a newbie pretty quickly. Wait until you feel comfortable. In fact, you don't ever have to sign up. Whatever fits you best.

Strider could I persuade you to ACE somebody? Maybe some would work?
If so their number is U189550 (someone I know)
Strider Pitch 909
Galen Posted Feb 4, 2002
an ace can ace someone else, they can just say, POOF! you are an ace now?
Strider Pitch 909
Evangeline Posted Feb 4, 2002
I meant ACE as in greet someone I know, who just registered, but, another ACE got there first...still it would be nice if some of y'all dropped by though.
Strider Pitch 909
Galen Posted Feb 4, 2002

Strider Pitch 909
Evangeline Posted Feb 4, 2002
That was nice of you to drop by. I am sure they will be pleasantly surprised the next time they pop in to check on their page.
Thanx!
