Loads of visitors, everyone seems to be enjoying themselves!
*offers foaming pewter tankards of nectar all round*
Anyone got an address for any of the other Pubs?

Just say where you'd like me to put it, Evangeline!

Were we serving at the fish pond? Or the pub?

It's probably better served in the Pub, I don't think there's a fire to keep it warm down by the fishpond
Those dragons are getting a bit rowdy down on the Car Park
*[sounds of rude Dragon Rugby songs float on the evening breeze]*

I suppose we should take it to the pub then.
Sorry about the delay. Apparently my ISP knew that I was trying to post.
Dragon songs on the evening breeze....
It's only 2:15 pm in my tent. Rowdy Dragons in the car park. Good thing I use the teleporter. Had to teleport since it is difficult to drive across an ocean. Not that I wouldn't mind submerging my car...

Time travel & teleporting just seem to come naturally: as well as keeping a watchful on Espharoth and her friends here, I'm trying to keep a Motley Kru of Questers more or less together on a Mission to BBC TV Centre [see "Does it come in Pints?"]
and look in on the Nordic Researchers Club, and the Captain's Quarters [ a pirate ship usually but not always floating (or sometimes sinking) somewhere off the coast of Denmark]
Am I developing a split personality?
Is that why I seem to be drinking TWICE as much ??

Wish I could teleport to work in RL. That would save so much time. I am looking to buy another car soon.
I am seeing a bit due to trying a few Guide ML things on my user page. Have you seen it lately?
The not quite floating, sort of sinking, kind of sounds like the riverboat casinos in Baton Rouge...

Is Baton Rouge anything like the scenes on riverboats portrayed by Mark Twain in "Life on the Mississippi"?
Days of bygone glory!
[Oh, and with a Virtual or three ....]

I wish Baton Rouge was still like Mark Twain described. Now there are chemical plants and oil refineries and malls and too many stores. WWII kind of ended the small town feel, according to my grandmother, who said it was just never the same after that. Robert Rucker is a local artist whose paintings you might find interesting.
Having gone to schools in Baton Rouge for all of my education most people thought that I lived there. My accent is a bit odd apparently. People always ask "Where are you from?" The answer would be: "Here". I commute to Baton Rouge everyday for work or errands(shopping). The city where I live is more developed than when my parents moved here in 1968, but still not a busy city.
The fastest drive from the store where I work to my house took 24 minutes at 3:00 am. That same commute takes 40 minutes on any weekday morning and most of an hour to return home after work.
Thanks for the s and the loo brush.
Not upset about my car. Glad it lasted as long as it has (twelve years). My mechanic is shocked that it lasted this long. The axle was damaged when someone ran a stop sign and collided with my passenger side door a couple of years ago(no injuries, and no passengers). We are currently shopping for the replacement. Maybe as soon as next week. We took a prospective car around to the same mechanic to get his opinion, he liked it. He asked me if I was trading in my old car? I told him that I would cube my old car, but, what would I do with a cube? Do you need a cube shaped paperweight by any chance?

Now there is an idea, bring my car to the plastic, aluminum, glass, recycle place removing the battery and take battery to autoparts place....If the dealer won't take it as a trade in that is .

Well Galen, when I passed by your tent there were people falling out of your tree. Got there just in time to see them leave. Met up with them at Click over There. We had some and . Later some and a little conversation. There is still some around here somewhere. Maybe we should throw a post crawl party.
Bagheera,
The casinos in Baton Rouge are a newer developement. In the early 1990's the state government advertised the idea that allowing local gambling to finance the state in order to improve roads, and schools etc. Since land based casinos were voted out riverboat casinos were built. The riverboats would use every excuse not to sail because a lot of people would leave when they did sail. The proceeds never were recognized by the roads or the schools. Video Poker machines were voted against in the next election. The riverboats are still here unfortunately. I have been to them. I didn't lose anything. Actually, I broke even for Mike. We did actually manage to sail a couple of times. Oh, and it's free drinks if you are on the gambling floor.

Final answer about the car Monday. First dealership sold prospective car before we could talk to my bank. Second dealership gave us a tremendous run around about final numbers. As soon as my bank says whether or not they can beat the interest rate quoted by the dealership we will close the deal. We did however put money down and sign a buyer's agreement.
The car itself is nice: Four door, sedan... The salesman is another story. Would have left, but I need another car before Friday.
Would you like to throw a post-crawl party? We could do a campsite crawl...One tent at a time...
Key: Complain about this post
