It is great that you have gotten such a response to your article. I kind of like the fact that here when we replace a car battery the old one can be turned in at the auto parts store for a discount on the new battery.
Do you need help translating French? I know a few people who could help with that.
Need to keep a closer eye on the kids? I set all kinds of restrictions and password protection on my pc. Mainly because I don't want to be bothered by all that unseemly stuff. Mike just has to live with it since I paid for it.
for the kids.
to wash down the research and translating.

The idea of a 'discount on the cost of a replacement battery' you mention re. CAR batteries was central to the launch of the dry-cell battery scheme in Sweden (many years ago) and an important 'carrot' I hope will help to establish the scheme in the UK.
Early days yet, but things are looking very positive!
Siobhàn & Liam are PC-literate and could probably run rings round both of us if they chose!
However, they are trustworthy and don't need THAT sort of 'close supervision' - yet!!
The smell of fresh-brewed has just drifted up from the office canteen ....

I only have to worry about being more pc literate than Mike. Mike is my boyfriend, and he knows just enough about computers to get himself in serious trouble once in a while. I set the passwords because in my first web searches results would number in the several thousands. So I set restrictions to eliminate everything that is absolutely undesirable so I wouldn't have to wade through each site's rating etc.(you would be surprised what a search for cheesecake will yield without restrictions).

No Kidding, I was looking for a particular type of cheesecake recipe. What I found instead was: Cheese, Cake, Cheesecake Recipes, Ingredients, cheesey jokes, cheesey photos.... Password protected that browser in a hurry.

I haven't done much browsing recently, and I doubt there's much inappropriate material connected to 'Madagascar'.

No inappropriate material. Have you seen the embassy website? Or the site that is titled native plant and animal names?

Thanks, Evangeline, the Elixir of Life is always welcome!
Great inroads made in translation work, but I've been sidetracked [in a POSITIVE manner!] by people calling me with favourable reactions to battery scheme proposals.
Now I know how Alice must have felt, "run as fast as you can to stay where you are.... " [Lewis Carroll: sorry if that's not an EXACT quote!!]
Once I can draw breath I hope to publish an 'update' on the 360 site ... Must dash now!!!

Pleased to hear your good news Bagheera.

This morning I picked up a battery that was in the kitchen drawer. As I turned it over in my hand the warning caught my attention. Warning: The GUARANTEE is null and void if the battery is charged by user or device. Now that may not seem odd. But, at 6:00 am I was a little confused as to how I as the user could recharge the battery without a device or how a device could recharge the battery without me the user. Is it just me, or are warnings getting more redundant? Have you seen the Do not use hairdryer in the shower warning?

I read Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Don't tell anyone, okay, but I still read some children's literature every now and then, such as Anne of Green Gables and the Narnia books. It is a pleasant break from the heavier reading that I do. Still searching for Edward Gorey books and an unabridged copy of Anne Frank's Diary. I also collect Charles Schulz books and Peanuts related things. Snoopy is my favorite.

Well, that looks just about done. *samples a little of the broth*
I hope this will be enough. Between the two types there should be something for everyone. The first pot is chicken and sausage gumbo. The second pot is vegetable gumbo, so any vegetarians in the crowd can eat something.
You know the funny thing about this campfire, it was lit a long time ago by Esparoth and it never has gone out since...hmmm.

Espharoth's invited " a few of the girls" around over the weekend, they've got something wicked brewing which they won't let me near over in the corner of the car park, next to a dragon-sized campfire
Have you ever seen a drunken dragon?
I'm not sure how much they can sup, but they show no signs of stopping!
