I'm not really here Posted Sep 5, 2001
Good idea! Especially as I was recently invited to one!
oh no, I'm the bridesmaid, I'm wearing a leather dress there.
I thought I should have a new one for the competion, no expense spared, and all that.

Bluebottle Posted Sep 5, 2001
Really? I'm flattered that you consider the bikini competition to be so important. :-D Well, you may have noticed with old threads popping up again, that I'm starting the build up to the start of the competition now. So if you're interested, pop along to: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F44375?thread=139519 where you can talk about the competition and try to bribe the judges for a few weeks before it starts. So, you as a bridesmaid in a leather dress... I can picture that.

I don't think you should be allowed to, cheeky boy!

Bluebottle Posted Sep 5, 2001
Well, if you don't want me to see it, you shouldn't describe it.
So, I believe it's your turn on the game.

If you think I'm going to stand on a street corner for you my love, you're much mistaken! At least not until you've had your go.

I meant the game of Draughts/twister/monopoly/scrabble/the weakest link we were playing!

Oh, I'm quite hapy to stand on Bond Street! Next to my huge hotel I have here. And as you're standing here next to me, that's 3 million Moxons rent you owe me. I like this game!

Always glad to help you out, Maw!
I look forward to your new column!
And did you know that I always use GuidePost for my column? Oh yes!
Here comes Summer
Chris Tonks Posted Sep 5, 2001
Oh, and having just checked it, the website linked to from your program's About box isn't the same as the one linked to from your space. The former only caters for version 5.1...
Here comes Summer
MaW Posted Sep 5, 2001
Yes, I believe the latest version of GuidePost corrects that... 0.6, you'll find.
Things move around, and I'm very bad at updating old websites even to point to new ones (although I should, I know).
I'm flattered that you use it though. I'll do some more work on it some day, but I'm really rather busy at the moment Not least with thinking up a topic for my new column in the Post. Which will probably be written in GuidePost 0.6 for Windows, GuidePost 0.1 for Linux and GNU Emacs, depending on where I happen to be at the time.

Chris Tonks Posted Sep 5, 2001
Yeah, I'm gonna be busy soon. I should keep up with my Ask Prof obligations, but my website's just had most work discontinued on it so I can spend my free time writing my book.

MaW Posted Sep 5, 2001
I just sent my column off to Shazz...
Ah yes, books, they are rather time-consuming aren't they? So are programming projects, Guide Entries... which reminds me, I'm being very lax with my contributions on the subject of C++ to a University project. Still, I did tell them I'm very busy, and I am. When I get back to Uni in just under three weeks, my free time should increase as I won't be working full-time anymore.

*checks thread*
*thought for a moment she had ended up in an Ask Prof conversation*
Mina, is it OK if I help myself over at the ice cream van?

Chris Tonks Posted Sep 5, 2001
Do /you/ read Ask Prof, T? You certainly should!
Goodness! Just after I sent my issue off to Shazz, I noticed your article had already been put up. I only had a brief browse - will read it tomorrow - but I noticed you commented on my column! Cheers!
I shall refer my audience to your column as well next week.

Oh help yourself Titania. If it looks like there's a crowd forming over there (unlikely) then let me know and I'll come over and serve.
Until then I'll listen to these guys waffle on a bit more.
The sound of their voices is lulling me to sleep.
Guys, if one of you would like to fetch me a copy of the latest Post, I'll read your columns.

Bumblebee Posted Sep 6, 2001
Everybody reads Ask Prof, surely!
Did you say that my handbag got robbed, Prof? Oh dear, I hope no-one got hurt! He can be very aggressive you know....
Nice bikini, Mina! Can I ask you where you bought it?
Here comes Summer
Chris Tonks Posted Sep 6, 2001
Mina, my voice does have a lulling, soothing quality to it.
(Don't hold me to that.)
Bumblebee... *pays royalty* ...It must have been robbed, yes. It stole your question from you, and then the great Question Marauder of Glactic Cluster 2 stole it out of your handbag! Either that or your handbag's got a deal going with the anti-knowledge underworld.
