I think you'll find Phil is quite capable of finding Burton - since *he* actually *bothered* to turn up to the last one! smiley - winkeye

Nah that'd be too easy smiley - winkeye
I was thinking of bus to Buxton, transpeak to Derby and then on to Burton. By rail it's into Manchester and then to Tamworth and then Burton (according to the national rail jouney planner, which right now isn't my friend smiley - tongueout) or to Manchester then Sheffield, Derby and finally Burton.

Changing at Tamworth isn't too bad. Although bus would probably quicker - hanging around the arse-end of Staffordshire for half an hour is no-one's idea of fun.

Do you know if there is bus from Burton to Ashbourne at all? Just wondering as that would make it a rather pretty route through the peak district smiley - smiley (buxton->ashbourne->burton) or would I be better off going through Derby.

I reckon you'd need to take TransPeak to Derby, then X38 to Burton. I'll check though.

Thought so. Buxton - Derby TransPeak, then Derby - Burton X38.

smiley - taThat's the route I'd come up with also. Shame as the route along the A6 isn't quite so interesting once you're past Matlock.

No, but you do get the thrill of knowing you're on one of the most accident-prone roads in the country. smiley - evilgrin.

Shall I put you down as a maybe?

Is there a website or summat for the burton beer fest? I ask because it's not listed on the camra beer festivals page.

I asked KerrAvon in another thread. No, there isn't, they must have been too busy drinking smiley - ale! But Kerr will try to link to a flyer later.

Ah, I missed that Roymondo. Still strange that it isn't listed on the camra site.

*very* strange. I'm about to go and bully my source for further info. It could be the Burton Bridge festival, rather than the CAMRA one. WHich is still good.
