*The colonel's secretary comes in, bearing the internal post, and smiles at the upright lieutenant. She is a middle-aged greying lady with large glasses but a trim figure, bristling with business-like qualities*

[Secretary]: I'm sorry sir but the colonel is currently off-world. I'm not sure when she will return. Would you like to leave your name and business with me and I'll inform her as soon as she returns.

No thanks I'll just meet her when she returns.

So I might as well go and wait in the gate room.

*walks out*

*The secretary nods genially and drops the reports she has sorted into the colonel's inbox. Those that have just arrived she stands and sorts through. When she comes across a report from Meds stating that Meridian has not yet undergone his medical examination and is relieved from active duty until it has been completed, her eyebrows rise and she purses her lips before dropping it into the colonel's inbox along with the other urgent corrospondances, before going back out*
