minichessemouse - Ahoy there me barnacle! Posted Jan 15, 2014
I think S is in for a bit of a shock on Friday as I'm leaving him in sole charge of R for several hours so I can have some time ALONE to do exciting things like buy myself some new jeans since my only pair have sprouted a large hole in the knee. And have a cup of coffee in peace without it getting stolen!
It's provably wrong to he excited about this!
Haven't used a windows Outer since Erm about 2008. Fruity punters all the way!

D'ya know what, Mouse?
It isn't.
Time alone, away from everyone but yourself is precious.
Just enjoy the peace.

Absolutely normal mini - I love my on-my-own moments. Being a mum is hard work and just having a few moments to yourself can be blissful.

Wohooo - after finally realizing that my update from Win XP to Win 7 Pro didn't include the latest updates for my graphics card I'm finally back at my comfy 1152 x 864 resolution (yes, it's that kind of monitor). It wasn't even among the available options at first.
Matina, a please!

Agree and for mini's self-time. Well, even Mrs SG V expressed not a small level of comfort about N (son) and me being out of the house for the few hours of scouting meeting last night.
>"Everything is so big!" You need to drink from the other bottle... Good one, Lil.
A handy tip, Ti (try to say that quickly ) - in Win 7, you can usually adjust your desktop icons (or text size in whatever program windows) to the size you want simply by holding Ctrl and scrolling on the mouse wheel
Very easy - when you know it.

Wow, talk about customer service.
We ordered a generic PS3 conrtroller on 28 December (the actual ones are £50 and these are only £11) It hadn't arrived by it's due date.
The sellers are not english, but very polite, as I have was in my initial email. They have emailed us today and said they are sending us another one and should the first one arrive, we can keep it as a gift.
The first one arrived today.

That's fine - it took me a few posts before I noticed that this thread had changed from the last one

Well, it seems that I have a dental abscess
Which means no for a week
I've got a lot of antibiotics, and they want me to go back and have the tooth removed. Yeah, given my fear of dentists, never gonna happen.

Surely gin has an antibacterial effect?

It's snowing 'Lovikkavantar'
(Lovikka mittens: http://www.bestofscandinavia.se/images/super/lovikkavantar_vit.jpg )
It's when the snowflakes cling together into big lumps. The snow is still very dry and light though, so the 'mittens' will float in the air or be pushed sideways by the wind.
If you're wearing anything with a rough cloth surface, the mittens will cling to it. Looking at them close up, you'll still be able to see the separate snowflakes forming the mitten - I'm guessing there are around 30+ snowflakes in one.

My weirdest experience at the dentist was when the guy said, drill in hand, 'just relax - you have an unusually large tongue'. How is being told that you have a large tongue relaxing? It's practically him saying 'I'm going to drill your tongue and it's your own fault'.
By 'no winter' do you mean no ?

When they pulled one of my teeth I was still a child. I got TWO ice creams that afteroon.
No snow and no really cold weather. Most of the time it's more like early spring.
