No captchas for me, I am happy to report. (Which leaves me all the more worried for why our esteemed hostess sees them...!)

Back at the grindstone. First task is to attack the desk at work with a snow shovel and a big bag for dumping stuff into. After that, the whip and chair will be needed for the to-do list to become manageable, I'm afraid...

*slips into her T-shirt and sips from her mug* Oh, thank you, this is VERY exciting, I've never been first to the forum before smiley - biggrin

Excellent summary, Lil.

Yesterday was a lovely day spent with our best friends which got 2014 off to a great start. And then I went to the IMDB website - which I use *constantly* while we're watching TV - and it's been changed in a way which makes it almost useless smiley - cross

We have sunshine here today so I might wander round the village delivering the Christmas cards I didn't get round to delivering a fortnight ago ...

I have never seen a captach either. (looks around hopefully for Pastey..)

Second day of veganism going well, made a delicious Tofu Florentine for lunch. I've never had the non-vegan version so I didn't know what Hollandise sauce was.

The captcha's only show up in old skins, that we're aware of, because of a bit of legacy hackery that was put in by the beeb, and we can't get rid of smiley - smiley

So does anyone have a surefire cure for utter exhaustion? Sleep seems not to be that cure as I haven't the ability to do that. I did another sleep study that told me exactly the same thing that I learned 8 years ago. I have sleep apnea.

Sugar, carbs and exercise I find works. Also, give in to your cravings.

Marv
A talk with your doc about relieving the sleep apnoea would be a start.

I used to work with someone who suffered from it (I assume he still does) in the end he was given a face mask and ventilator fan to help keep his airways open.
His comment at the time was it was a bit noisy but at least he got a nights sleep.

I haven't much to say for myself, except everybody got flustered this morning -- when I was wheeled into the shower room this morning, there was a man in there, half dressed -- R, to be precise. I was pulled back out of the room so fast I almost got whiplash.

Oh, dear, Asters... I hope everyone is ok.

Sleep apnea must be horrible. When R still worked, he snored horribly, and held his breath/had apnea-like pauses for several seconds, intermittently. It was horrible, he slept, but was tired, and it kept me awake. When he retired, it got much better.

Do see your doctor, Marv. There are the pressurised masks, and I do believe there can be surgery too, removing bits of the soft tissue in the back of the palate - those that get trapped and vibrate, and so on. Perhaps sleeping on your side rather than on your back? It can be helped, and it's important to get help!

Not sure how efficient this trick is, but it won't hurt to try, right? As I understand it, most of those who suffer from sleep apnea sleep lying flat on their back. If you're wearing pyjamas or a T-shirt, try sowing a tennisball into a pocket at the back, forcing you to turn over on one side.

Can't sleep on my back. I mostly sleep on my left side, sometimes switch over to the right side for a while, then switch back.

My spelling has deteriorated seriously lately. I think I'm still struggling to come to grips with my most recent birthday. How the smiley - bleep did that happen? Turning 50? Surely it can't be a whole decade ago since I turned 40?

Is anyone else feeling the time speeds up as you grow older?

Here is something interesting -- it's a map of the US in which borders are drawn according to watersheds.

I will assume Lil meant its American Meaning (All the land within the drained area) although the UK one is probably better (the dividing line between drained areas).
