I got pocket-dialed at 6 am by Pastey -- didn't answer, but called back at 8:30. They're packing to go back to England.

I'd hate to see uniformity of size and shape demanded of pooh sticks -- it's the "foundness" of them that creates the uncertainty, not just the current of the water underneath the bridge.

If pooh sticks are all the same shape and size, how would you tell them apart?smiley - yikes

Sounds more like Rubber Duck Racing, which is a completely different sport...

I have in fact seen rubber duck racing

Actually to avoid identicalness - the pooh sticks section of our triathlon can include not just how quick the stick moves under the bridge, but also finding a good stick to use

By order of Geggs we must provide more funny quotes, therefore I am directed to require such quotes from all I meet - onwards with witty repertoire smiley - laugh

I always feel sorry for anyone who had tickets, hotel rooms and travel booked for the fifth day when that happens.

It was good to hear the bowlers doing so well. I just wish a few more of the batsmen would do better. Not boding well for the Ashes...

Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.")

My maternal grandma passed away yesterday afternoon at the ripe old age of 84. smiley - sadface I am amazed that she chose to stay with us this long after my grandpa's passing last August. She always was a strong-willed woman and she will be greatly missed.

On the office quote board this week:

'Thanks to ice hockey for the first time in history Americans realise today: SWITZERLAND and SWEDEN are two different countries.' smiley - tongueout

Although I'm sure my fellow Salonistas are enlightened enough to be well aware of the difference smiley - winkeye

Sunny but windy.

My local is on the finish line of the great Easter Sunday duck race. Undreds of yellow plastic ducks come bobbing down the river.

Sorry for your loss, GDZ smiley - rose

Today, I will be mostly cleaning - me and my son made a right mess at our tiny Euroviz party and neither of us was up to it on Sunday. I was still feeling the effect yesterday...(oops)

smiley - candle for GDZ grandma.

Spring darkness has descended on me again. It always does, and I always refuse to believe it until it's really really obvious. So please excuse any grouchiness. It's not you, it's me.

I've had Italians get the countries mixed up, but I'm not too surprised that some people don't know the difference between 'Svezia' and 'Svizzera'.

In English, I'm guessing it might have more to do with the adjectives Swiss and Swedish - you know, a Swedish army knife and such smiley - winkeye

for GDZ.

Over here it got all the way up to 91F (33C) ... though now it's gone down below 60F (16 C). Zarking weather ...

I don't think I've mentioned it here, but I have been teaching myself 3D graphics by recreating the "3D Maze" screensaver from Windows 95! Bit silly, I know, but there you go ...

P*sa pouring here this morning - I am trying to convince myself that the gardens and land needs it. Found it easier to convince myself that Gore-Tex really is a good invention.

And may I say that I don't know so many other places that could have such a qualified discussion of Pooh sticks smiley - biggrin

WanderingAlbatross - Wing-tipping down the rollers of life's ocean.

Emerges from the depths with a selection of a's and A's in various typefaces clutched in his bill. There you go, always handy having a maritime scavenger around.

I've got a French army knife; it's got a corkscrew and a white flag.
