Congratulations, Bea! Now we have wedding details to look forward to.
So many old familiar faces. It's wonderful! And I missed yesterday and had 150 posts to wade through today. that really does seem like the old days.
Around here we have the most problems with deer digging up our tulip bulbs. We use T's chicken wire solution a lot. It works like a charm most of the time. Since I now have three shelties, the squirrels give my back yard a miss. I even got to gather my pecans this year! Normally the squirrels take them all.
Irv and Zomnker, I can't run for mayor until I retire, at which point I won't want to run for anything on the off chance that I'd win.
Eats, middle of the night pizza tummy is miserable. I say this from experience.
Thanks to Sol and really ~needing~ to see the Star and Comet, I will very soon have a brand shiny new super dooper computer with HD everything and terrabites or something that sounds like that and a web cam and lots of other stuff that didn't exsist when I got my old computer. I'm chuffed. Hey, it was cheaper than a plane ticket. My computer guy gave me a list of websites and model numbers and assures me that I got great prices on everything. Anyway, for the first time in my life I'll be up to date. How strange is that!

Congratters to Bea! *Excitement tempered with sympathy for the delayed party*
Sol - you mentioned an op. I am gazing at you with concern and interest. Also, your MiL can be QUIET - When I last saw Comet she was as healthy and cute as a very healthy and cute button. It's not actually good for babies to be enormously fat, no more so than it is for adults.
Commiserations to Eats for his thermonuclear tummy. Ugh, the descriptions made me wince and wince in sympathy. And to anyone else who is feeling under the weather.
On which subject, I am not well myself, and will be probably having surgery next month - the which surgery is supposed to be exploratory and diagnostic, so may well not do me much good at all. My tether, end of, I think I am at. Bah.
If it's not squirrels at the bulbs, it could well be jays. They dig up the new plantings in the garden near work every autumn - possibly they are looking for worms in the freshly turned soil, but up come the damn bulbs too, and the gardeners stomp about and swear.

Fighting off a wee bit of a cold here, and waiting till I start work on Nov 7. There is good reason for the late start date, but I am bored and want to be working

Ooooh. Marv. I must have missed it. Is it that job Elsewhere?

Blimey, is there something in the 'not with Aunty' water?
Was on a ringing course this morning, and went out for dinner tonight. Tomorrow is lined up for gardening, including planting some fritillaries-the tulips went in last week, and I've already planted some miniature narcissus. Also need to sort some bedding plants out.
Hyp-that machine sounds more advanced than mine (G's computer from a couple of years back.)
Interested to hear more about Marv's job. We've got some changes coming at work in the new year.

Welcome back, tartaronne! Another smile on my face today.
Pizza tummy firmly gone, thank goodness.
Sol, ignore, ignore, ignore. Our pair look skinny compared to many kids, but they are healthy, full of skip and bounce. We did a heap of ignoring at that stage too.
Worth noting how the UN realised that its baby-weight figures were only fit for dumping, as they were based on western feeding methods comprising a lot of manufactured baby milk. I don't know if they have yet revised their figures down.
Our kids friends can be distinguished between the breast and formula varieties. We know which are which as they have all grown up together.
The only snag is that our pair struggle for narrow-waist clothing as the average child is larger around the middle nowadays.

Well, it's complicated, because I do have to mixed feed, but obviously because I am mixed feeding, I'm not giving the doses they recommend, but as I am mixed feeding because my milk supply is poor, I can't be 100% sure that she actually is getting enough. Eh, well, I shall go and weigh her next week and then see. I am burgered if I am weaning her yet though.
Oh! No op, Ag. I meant opportunity. Although funnily enough, I did go to the doctor's last week because I'd found another lump in my neck (previous one was benign and removed. The medicos are officialy not worried about it, but it may recur) while scratching an itchly blotchy rash that had appeared all over my face (TMI yet?). Turns out the lump was just glands and connected to the blotches. And they were caused by fatigue. Hahahahaha. Ahahahahahahaha. Ha ha ha. Oh deary me.

Mind you the Star is now in size 4-5 clothes and my MiL bought some vests for a five to six year old that fit him length ways but not, obviously, width ways. Except that he can also wear all his two to three clothes because of being slim. Eats like a horse, does the Star. Burns it straight off again.

And Skype is a wonderful thing. Hyp will now get to see what I looked like at 3 and what my MiL looked like at 3 months (I try not to hold this against the Comet).
And the Star can now count to three, I am going to send him to ballet classes, and the Comet can roll and spin and is getting her legs under her, and frankly it is unnatural to have an under five month old crawling baby, I reckon, but I think I am about to have one anyway, and that's you all caught up with my kids.
Squirrels I reckon it is then. The little tree rats come up the fir and onto our balcony. I just didn't realise they ate bulbs. Blast.

Good news on the job, Marv!
And I'm very glad we're getting even more Salonistas dropping in...longer convos may be in order, but it's also going to make the competition for First LED even *more* fierce! I never get on First LED, or get the mug. Will we also have to remodel the last in penalty?
I vacillate between wanting to plant some bulbs and shuddering at the thought of trying to get up off the ground again after planting them. There were plantings in the back garden over the summer: Chili peppers, something called Gai lan (chinesse broccoli, which is also a *weed*, they're trying to tower over the fence again), some of those little sweet watermelons, and of course the bananas made an appearance again.
Sol, please don't listen to your MiL -- fat babies are more likely to be fat adults, and that's no fun for Comet.

Will I, with my limited online time be able to cope with the backlog?
Will I have to buy a bigger v/_\3 in order to make everyone a ?

I have been wont to wonder, since January, whether the high number of Salonistas on the Committee and now the volunteers is because we are all hardened to extreme backlog. And then I wondered whether the extreme backlog wasn't a direct result of this.

Bluebottle Posted Oct 22, 2011
It's hard catching up with the backlog when you get distracted by excellent things such as the Create pages. It's making me want to do something about updating my homepage, which I've not done for about a decade...
It needs the FennyFish and smileys back, I think. (I wonder if we'll get the original smileys back at any point, the ones before the and took over?)

Well, in the past it was not unusual to find the current Salonista thread among the most popular conversations on the front page (we're no. 1 right now). In fact, I believe that's how some Salonistas found us.
Regarding the difference between children raised on mother's milk or formula, I know some think it's because of higher content of saturated fat (which in itself doesn't make you fat) in mother's milk. I wonder if there might be any difference in how long the baby stays satisfied after a meal?

Oh, and as for old smileys, I think someone found the links for a few of them that had been 'blobbed' although that was so long ago I don't remember who it was or where or how...

The Atelier has for a long time (pre-rupert) been one of the busiest conversations on h2g2. That it is now is no suprise.
Irv, for Mrs Irv. Thats not a nice thing to deal with.
