Amy Pawloski, aka 'paper lady'--'Mufflewhump'?!? click here to find out... (ACE)

I should probably donate my scanner (if I didn't do so when we did the great purge coming up here from Sacramento...) I'm pretty sure a scanner that worked better with 98 than it did with XP isn't going to play well with 7... Plus, if I still have it, it's been in a box in a damp climate for over 5 years... Maybe I shouldn't donate it--I don't like to donate broken things...

I've a new'ish Canon scanner going spare as I've just bought a multi-function wifi thingummy.
If I recollect, I bought the old one to run with Linux, but ended up so enamoured of Win 7 that I never got around to using Linux since. Maybe I should give it a go again.

Just stunned by the images coming from Japan. There aren't really words are there?

I'll admit that I haven't been looking at the pictures from Japan. The pictures and videos of our harbor are depressing enough--the devastation in Japan is just too much.

I was very relieved when I heard it had weakened a great deal before it got to you Amy.

At least it seems the Western seaboard is fairly well organised when it comes to warnings of these things.

When I wanted to scan my black and white negatives it was so expensive it worked out cheaper to buy a decent scanner and do it myself. So I bought an epson, pretty good it is too. Of course it wont work with Linux smiley - erm.

Mol - on the new tablet

smiley - wah how do I stop our new cat from using Osh's bed as a toilet?

She has a clean litter tray and we've pegged the catflap open (she hasn't got the hang of opening it herself but she'll use it if it's propped). But she's still quite timid and if we're all downstairs she won't necessarily come down to either go out or use the tray.

Of course, it didn't help that Somebody had broken the golden rule and left Osh's door open today smiley - rolleyes

Ooh, shiny, Lil! I think, from what I've been reading, that Epsom is one of the top three brands for reliability.

I'm still kicking around my idea for a home business -- scanning old photos, slides and negatives, and transferring them to either a CD/DVD or a thumb drive, for safekeeping.

Have watched rather a lot of news over the last few days with the housemates and assorted others - it's really beyond comprehension. Glad that Amy and family are unscathed.

I'm still really enjoying the job, reading lots on the train journey, and being rather tired. But I'd rather do an interesting (maybe even exciting?) job and be tired than a boring one and never get worn out.

Titania (gone for lunch)

smiley - yawn

The first episode of Millennium was just as good (upsetting, and I cried this time around too) as I remembered it. I remember how impressed I was the first time I watched it that the director didn't shy away from the sexual violence in the book. I can't really see that happening in the Hollywood version...

IIEM, a Mog's special please!
