Ref to previous convo, Ooh that's tough, I've still got my old paper licence rather than one of the new photo ones so in theory I could use it until I'm 70, assuming I never move cave or anything else happens to force a renewal in the meantime, don't think I'll manage to avoid having to renew that long though.

What I sulk a little (ok, little enough for it not to matter much) over is that I read MC's comment that was teh last before Lil started the cup chant and then lost myself in trivial things such as dinner and reading. Oh well

I'm happy to see that Matina was able to give Bea her fttf prize just before the linemen turned off the internet at the substation up the road. From what I hear, the intertubes are getting root canals. And in the meantime I was obliged to wander off and do laundry.

Actually, it was an oversight. Usually I get clued in to a first post because the salonista references it his or her self. By 300, I've stopped looking at the left frame and am following the content of the conversation. Dang, scribing is going to be a lot more difficult without frames, in Orchid.

Well, I lucked out this morning--it didn't start raining until after I dropped Gracie off at J's, and I'd been so paranoid about being late that I got home (yes, home *is* a stop between J's and work) in plenty of time to dry off and change into Tom's coat, which has a hood (my rain hat went missing at the start of the rainy season last fall. I know it's in the house *somewhere*...)So of course it hasn't rained since I arrived at work...

I got into and out of the DMV in less than half an hour, counting the 3 photo attempts (the first 2 not being sharp enough). It turns out one can no longer wear one's glasses when getting a DMV photo--glasses are a disguise, donchaknow (To her credit, the only person working the counter at the DMV found it ridiculous, too.) It's difficult to focus on the blue dot for the camera if you can't *see* said dot... Anyway, I can now legally drive, according to the handy paper folded in my wallet, and my not-interim license will be coming to the PO box, since we won't be living in this apartment in 60 to 90 days...
