h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Right, yes, my Project.
Well, it's the h2g2 Realisation Project, and and the page can be found at

Mu aim is to set up groups of scouts (to find all things h2g2 and get info on them), artists (to visulaise those areas), designers (to design the maps), and mappers, me being the head one.
The maps are going to be multiplayer maps for the increadably poluar game Half-Life, and if everything goes well, we will convert the best maps we make for Counter-Strike, a Half-Life add-on.

Naturally, I realise that not everyone has Half-Life, but there are loads and loads of things for other people to do, and I believe Amy has already agreed to be a scout (although we'll have to change that name so it doesn't conflict with the Peer Review system).

And yes, I am good at German... I got an A* in my GCSE in Year 9!

I think, although mapping h2g2 is not popular with everyone, If we're going to do it there's no point in waiting. The longer we wait the more difficult it will be to come up with a plan that accommodates all the visual descriptions.

I see that DD has signed up. He knows lots of places. Styx the Rat will be useful too. He gets around, especially on the "lower levels" of h2g2. I hope he will feel inclined to join in.

Perhaps my "Beyond the Map" page could be a focus for an ideas thread.

Well, of course, I would like to help - it sounds as an interesting project.

As for the 'German Village' as Amy named it, there is indeed a Purple Pool, which is mixed with a kind of pub, called B'Berliner Buletten Bude, a book club. So, if it's interesting for you, I can look around and ask the German Community.
