Every six months--when I go in for my cleaning--my hygenist and dentist take a look at my less-than-stellar enamel and ask me, every time, if I've been regularly sucking on lemons. smiley - tongueout

I just love my new-fangled sonic electric toothbrush. And I miss my water-pik. Well, it is still sitting on the bathroom counter, but the hose is hosed and spurts water all over the place. Think I'll get one of those new-fangled cordless, portable water-piks one of these days.

On another note, I watched There Will Be Blood the other day because #2 decided to put it on the tv. I never would have chosen it myself, but that was one powerful flick.

Montana Redhead (now with letters)

I like Daniel Day Lewis, but that movie just didn't work for me. Now, District 9 on the other hand!

As someone who teaches writing, grammar (or more rightly, the lack thereof) is something I deal with daily. And frankly, most of it is dreadful. I get emails from students who cannot differentiate between 'their/they're/there' and 'your/you're'. And they wonder why I take so long to grade their papers. Goodness.

On a happier note, although California's dearth of jobs is a bit disheartening, there are several in other places. Some I'm excited about, some not so much. But a job's a job.

MR, which universities are you considering?

The electric toothbrushes just make your teeth feel cleaner. I like mine a lot.

I deal with a lot of they're/their/there and two/to/too confusion with my students, too, but mine are half the ages of MR's, and have learning disabilities, so at least it's not unexpectedsmiley - winkeye

On that note--first day with the new teacher went well--seems like a good guy. And we're in a normal-sized room this yearsmiley - somersault We've been in a half-room the last 2 years, with no water. We did have a few parents and kids looking for the last teacher to have our room, but I put a sign on the door telling them where she was.

I really liked "There Will Be Blood" as well. Well shot, good acting, all around great film. I bought it on Blu Ray, but it was much better in the cinema.

Well, that's two hours of my life I won't get back! smiley - silly On the plus side I did paid £40 for it. When I got in the car at 10pm my son turned round and said 'Have you got the money?' smiley - rofl Well, I did promise him some Lego...

I've only been watching Kids films recently although, we did watch Detroit Rock City the other week. Damned funny film, makes me laugh every time I watch it (and Edward Furlong is *very* cute smiley - blush)

minichessemouse - Ahoy there me barnacle!

Anticoffee please IIEM I appear to be semi nocturnal again. Also I'm really not eating properly lately Today I had toast and houmous, half an 8 inch cake and tinned spaghetti on toast plus snacks, many snacks. I really need to start eating properly, and the flat needs cleaning up before flatmates get back on Monday.

Sorry that was a bit of a rant. Does 5.30 in the morning suffice as an excuse?

Mrs Zen

I would think so, Mini.

Like MR I am starting some anticipatory job searching. Actually, that is putting way too much emphasis on it. I've got out my trusty 2002 copy of 'What Color is your Parachute' and it is now on my kitchen table so I can do the exercises if I feel like it.

If I do have to get a new job, I don't yet know if I want more of the same so I can call it a career, or if I want to make a change in direction. And I may decide 'sod this for a bunch of pony-nuts' and leave anyway.

What I haven't yet worked out is whether the behaviours I dislike are how the new organisation is, was and always will be, or whether they are specific to the two-into-one-won't-go times we are living through.

I do feel like a member of a subject nation, though.

smiley - tea
