Kerr, I saw it once...and laughed through most of it.
No, it was 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen'. I was so hoping it would be good, that it would grow on me. Yeah, no. Nothing doing.

We didn't go inland enough... Gasquet was 68 degrees, but we just went to Ruby Van DeVenter Park, which is still generally in the fog belt

Just got home from helping a friend demo his house. We tore down the ceilings in the basement today, well, by we I mean me. I was the perfect height to reach up and pull down the sheet rock. I am completely and utterly wasted today.

Trader Joe's had a bag of mixed greens for cheap, so I bought that, and some no-nitrate bacon, and cooked 'em up with some onions and chicken broth...and YUM!

Very jealous of the RL salon at Kew, but I had a lovely Saturday as well, celebrating a friend's birthday (and seeing the first scans of her small-person-in-waiting ).
Hello stunningfrenchie and other visitors.

Yeah, I know - uploaded the pics late evening at the Radisson out at Stansted and couldn't find the energy to label... Will do later

Morning all, you have been busy overnight.
>> Do any of you lovely people have suggestions as to what colour I should use?
I'm with MR - Sky Blue - a few shades more solid than your tattoo. You can then flick your hair back with your hand and double up the effect.
>> You're a rugby player that shrunk in the wash.
- He's *lovely*. He's also considerably smaller and less fat than he was.
>> 12 hours is a long time to travel though
I thought that when I got your text saying you were home safe. Thanks for venturing to join us, little Mouse.
>> I didn't mean to ignore anybody, but I really didn't see you leave.
Nice to see you Bel, we don't normally see you in these parts, do we? We had to disappear in a hurry - the bus was out side chewing on oats and stamping its hoof.
>> You've not just made the horrible mistake of watching The Da Vinci Code, have you?
I do wish Tom Hanks hadn't made those two movies. He was easier to admire before he made them.
Oh, hello Taff!
>> 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen'
Mmmm. Too many SFX and not enough acting or script, as I recall. I felt it was rather thin, if I remember right.
>>Just got home from helping a friend demo his house
I read that as being short for "demonstrate" as in "click here and the editing menu lets you choose to .... "
Right. Work. Yes. Like work. Like paying mortgage. 'Course I do.

Oh, and he's got a fair old turn of speed - he was the only one of the four of us who could run for the bus with any success - even if the only CPR when he got there would have been for one of us!

The tall chap with the glasses is my J, all 6'6 of him. t'Boy is a rugby player in waiting, giant that he is. In fact he starts rugbytots in a few weeks
Z was indeed looking svelte but I don't think I could follow his regime. How much longer are you planning to keep it up Z? Am really, really interested in how you stop doing it...

Hypatia Posted May 11, 2009
Good morning, Salonistas. This is my last post from the Motherland. (Or Fatherland, take your pick.) It has been a great vacation, really chock full of friends, fun places and events. Teuchter is the perfect hostess and just darned good company. We seem to have laughed our way through the last couple of weeks. Fortunateely, her sense of humor is as warped as mine.
Kelli, T fixed a traditional roast beef dinner yesterday, so I've had cow. And she made the most delicious mashed potato dish where she added in the roasted carrots, swede and onions, I'd never eaten potatoes with other veg added. It ws truly drool worthy. I've added roasted garlic or cream cheese and chives, but never actual veg. Proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks.
Mr. D, I also regret that we weren't able to meet up this time. And not just for Mrs. D's internationally famous rock cakes, although I certainly wouldn't have refused one or six. The two of you are going to have to make that visit to the Ozarks one of these days.
This is a bit off topic, but speaking of visiting the Ozarks, please keep in mind that the July 4 picnic is just around the corner and all Salonistas have a standing invitation. Barbecue, fireworks, bearded cousins, flaming spud launchers. It doesn't get much better than that. Anyway, the bearded cousins have accepted that my weirdo internet friends are actually quite normal people and fun to have at a picnic.
Syn sent me a disturbing e-mail last night. It seems that there was a storm in Little DooDah a couple of days ago. 93mph straight winds. To quote, "Webb City is a mess. Massive power outages." So I'm not sure what I'll find when I get home. I'm hoping I don't have a smelly mess in the fridge and freezer to clean up immediately.
It will be time to head for Heathrow in a bit. I'll get into Springfield a little after 11 pm central time (5 am Blighty time) and home an hour later. I'll be bushed by then. Happy to see Annie. If she follows her regular pattern, she'll run around in circles and pee herself when I get home. By now she'll be sure I've been eaten by predators.
Tomorrow will be spent unpacking and going over to check on Mother and take her shopping. Then it will be back to work Wednesday.
Thanks soooooooo much to all of you who came out to do stuff with me. It was just wonderful to see you all again and to meet Tod, Santra and mini. I also met David's J, who is absolutely delightful. And of course the wee ones were a joy.
Next post will be from the Ozarks. *waves*

The whole thing's been such fun
I'm going to miss my partner-in-gin.
The 4th July picanic sounds like lots of fun too. I remember the competitive fireworks episode from a few years ago
This year, 4th July will be Mr T's Independence Day
He's coming back to the UK, permanently
I'll be spending the month of June out there with him and we'll come back together on 4th July.
On that note, having almost used up my day's allocation of smilies ... I'm off to see what list minute fun can be had with our redoubtable Pres.
