Why can you never find a black jazz combo when you need one?

Z's sorting out his passport to go to Morocco even as I type. Although he knows more doctors than normal people none of the local ones have known him for more than 18 months, so he's getting his form signed by Hoovooloo / SoRB.
Any particular reason you need a jazz band, Hyp?

I promise I didn't eat the phone box. I did feel like eating one of the academic today, though (or at least biting his head off), but chose not to. He would probably have tasted nasty.

Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.") Posted Feb 2, 2009

We academics tend to taste a bit like old books, various nasty chemicals, and theoretical nonsense. Not particularly tasty, no.

For my Harlem Renaissance exhibit next month, Ben. I have CDs to play in the background, but I was hoping to have a live musical program one evening.

That would be so good, Hyp. You really do spoil Little Doodah with what you put on in the Library.

News report from the outer limits of Essex, train and bus services curtailed with frequent cancellations, refuse collection cancelled, schools closed. When I was on the bus this morning, there was no heating and the bus driver was not too happy. I saw a car refusing out of a road and nearly crashes into an oncoming car. It looks like a winter wonderland outside.

Thank you, Ben. I really do try to provide good programs for folks of all ages. It is quite a struggle sometimes.
Speaking of, the woman who was doing my kids program Saturday morning for the opening of the Ellis Island exhibit just canceled on me. *sigh* Guess who will likely wind up throwing something together at the last minute?

Late again! But possibly not as late as I've been previously. There were no trains from home to work today, so I did as much work as I could from home (a relatively small amount). It's been snowing all day but seems to have stopped for now.
Just wondering, has anyone heard anything from Ag recently?

She's ok, in that nothing spectacularly dramatic has happened. She's not ok in that she's still not anywhere nearer maternity.

Blast. Just heard from the auditors. They will be here tomorrow instead of Wednesday. And I was planning to take the morning off to take Mother to do some business. Are we sure Freddie is gone?

Bookmouse & Ben - thanks for asking and answering 'bout Ag. I'd actually just thought the same.
No snow but lots of wind as if that could make up for it. Harumph.

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Posted Feb 2, 2009
Hmm... bit earlier than I was anticipating. Still, only third LED so should be safe from the trousers.

You would have looked quite striking in them, Mr. D.
The salon is a less interesting place without Ag. I hope she comes back to us soon.

*walks in very non-Gumby* I had a steroid shot in the right hip and am feeling more nearly normal already. If symptoms return by 4 weeks from now, I'm to see a neurologist. Probable diagnosis: slipped disc. No cranial nerve deficits, nothing but the gumby legs, so it looks like I'm going to be OK.
*heaves shuddering sigh of relief, fetches a cup of tea from the samovar and makes her way to the nearest red velvet sofa*
And I hope Ag makes it back soon, too. Also.
