Quiet in here, innit?
I have now got Trillian set up, though I had to install AIM to recover my password
I ought to sort myself out and get going so I can get to Zs in time to meet up with the Boyz and GreyDesk.
tomorrow.

A couple of weeks ago I heard my next door neighbor showing one of the young cats how my cat door works. I told her firmly to BACK ORFF! Four is more than enough, and it would be too much if Limbo hadn't gone slightly feral so that she isn't here most of the time and spends the time that she ~is~ here eating and sleeping.
Precious and I just had an argument about who should get to sit in this office chair while I'm working.

I've just been and taken a couple of photos of the most beautiful bluebells I've ever seen: There are literally tons of them in Tocil wood, which has records of its existance stretching back 500 years, and can be pollen dated back 2,000 years: for a modern uni (I went on an archeology tour being run for our 40th birthday) we have an ancient history-more recorded sites than any other uni, and an archeological history dating back to the meleolithic period.

Right on, GDZ!
Lil, sounds like your neighbor is trying to offload her cats on you. Is this your landlord neighbor?!
Lots of work to do....later!

JulesK...if I might ask, what's the general area of where you come from? Because I had a 'Bluebell woods' too...
Still jetlagged and trying desperately to run around reorganising my life. My piano teacher's taken up yoga at the time I'm supposed to have a lesson so I've had to change that, and my psych's taken different work hours and wants me there at a completely stupid time and...
it's all a bit much really

Hypatia Posted May 7, 2005
Well, the salad luncheon is history. We have decided to call it quits with them. Today's was actually the most enjoyable one we've ever had. The program was interesting (a Daniel Boone trunk presentation), and some of the food was actually good. My Friends president brought a delicious tomato salad. I liked it so much I asked for the recipe. And there was a green salad that was wonderful -a lovely mixture of red and green lettuces, baby spinach, feta and walnuts in a red wine vinegrette. And homemade french rolls.
Then, after the luncheon, a woman approached me and asked me if I would like to have an index of records from a state tuberculosis hospital that was located here from 1914 - 1956. I nearly passed out. We have tried to get information about the hospital for our local history/genealogy collection for years. When the hospital closed, the records were taken first to the county seat and then sent to another state hospital about 60 miles away. Where they supposedly vanished. Anyway, we now have a record of every patient the hospital ever had, their addresses, place of birth, etc. It's a real find. I have no idea where she got the original records to compile this book, and I don't care. It's wonderful.
Some days I love my job.

Good to hear that the lunch was not as bad as years past. Ending on a high note, so to speak.
Today marks the first day of the official Marv the Grate Winery. I've just bottled 20 litres or so of green apple reisling.

I called the head of our local genealogical society and told her I needed to come to the library - immediately. She told me she was dirty and sweaty and couldn't come in. So I told her I didn't care how bad she smelled, she needed to get over here. I so seldom summon anyone like that that she came right over.
I met her at the door, which made her nervous - she thought she was in big trouble about something. I didn't say anything, escorted her to the elevator and took her to the third floor. When I walked over to the desk where I had put the books and handed them to her, she took one look and whooped and actually danced around the room! It was a great moment.
Wish I had some of Marv's wine to celebrate with.

What a wonderful moment, Hyp!
*drags Peace to the Salon windows*
To the south we have the fields where Ferrari and the other horses graze. Oh look! Salvador has joined them .
*pulls Peace to out of the French doors and onto the terrace* In the distance you can see the mountains and the apes.
*moves across the Salon and the Atrium to the conservatory doors* beckons Peace* The Conservatory looks out to the north, as does Lil's studio. Over there you can see the Magick Forest but if you look to your left you might just be able to catch a glimpse of the Beach and the Sea.

I'd have paid to have seen that dance, Hypatia!
Meanwhile, I have a big order of cards to print, and am having problems with the quality of the cardstock. If a corner of this heavy paper is dinged it will cause problems feeding. And now I'm finding that some weren't scored properly, so now I have to take a tee-square to every card before I feed it to the printer, so as not to waste ink.
I also have to clean the lint off every card individually because sometimes the blade was dull and left an edge of linty fuzziness.
*sighs and goes back to work*
