Talking of noises outside at night - this weekend was a minimeet in itself, Hoo and Alex came to visit. Hoo came to change my lightbulb, (don't snigger, Kerr, the lightbulbs in question are in 12' and 14' ceilings, and though I am not afraid of stepladders, I do know my limits).
Anyways - Z and I got woken up by a bloody great thunderstorm, and least out of the window going 'ooohhhh' and 'aaaahhhhh' at the bangs. When I was doing the hostess bit in the morning I asked about the thunderstorm, and they'd slept right through, which answered the question of whether they had slept well rather nicely.
I have got the Dell sending and recieving messages, and it is now wearing a condom, but it gibbered when I installed Trillian, (I've uninstalled it now), and I am still on pay-per-minute because I left the ADSL drivers in Leeds.
Still, a moderately productive weekend, and I have email again after a long long break.

Speaking of sunburns, I went for a hike Saturday morning. It was sunny, and my rosacea was aflame by Saturday afternoon. I stopped at a grocery store to buy some wine on the way to a party with a friend in the early evening. This woman walked up to me in one of the aisles and yelled "Looks like someone got too much sun!" Then she actually attempted to pinch my cheek.
I gave her The Look, cooly said "That's not a sunburn, madam.", and walked away. The nerve!

!
We stayed up to watch the storm when it hit here too. There really is nothing like being all snuggly and warm in bed with the windows wide open and all that rampant weather going on outside

Ya I cheated a bit with the word... But it works.
I am working from home today and have been twice as productive as I would have been at work. Odd, it's usually the other way around for me.

[Ag - who has been hammering bits of plywood together to make a miniature filing cabinet but notes she waited to do it in the afternoon when even the most hungover are up and about and she thinks DIY at 8:30 on a ban collie day is a criminal offence. She must now actually go and file stuff in new filing cabinet but thinks she would rather on the whole not if she can possibly help it.]

It's so cold that I've decided to have a hot lunch of scrambled eggs and biscuits.

Congrats to MR. T
for B4's loss.
Wellcome to JulesK
, Solnuska
And I have so much to comment on - but must plagiarise Ag and S and do some serious housew*rk - Sig. S is the best of the two of us, but alas, he has the long evening shift...
for Santra because he always notes the good stuff people do - and did it even before he read the promoted book

Installed DOS 5.0 and Windows 3.1 on a laptop today. It was great fun.

I don't miss it. I have been planning on setting up a DOS based system on newer technology, just for the sake of doing so. Now I have and I can install a different OS.

Well, it was stable. Programs ran well in it. But it was only 512 colors...

Finished my last class today. Huzzah. Only finals remain. Well,....finals and as-yet-unsubmitted-homework-that-I-should-really-get-to.
Though, it's come to my attention that my employer is frustrated by the fact that I have a college schedule to work around. Doesn't seem to get that I work there to afford college, therefore meaning that going to work instead of school-related events would be a complete sign of madness on my part.
