7AXth Conversation at Lil's

Done working for the day. A nice hot shower is gonna feel really good.

A subject header game! Thank you for that, GDZ.
OK, here's the rules.
1. The word has to be at least six letters long.
2.Your word must contain three letters, in sequence, from the previous word.
3. The sequence can come from anywhere in the previous word.
4. If you don't want to play or can't think of a word, put "...." in the subject header.
5. If four instances of .... occur one after another, you can think of a new word and start a new sequence.
6. If there are simulposts, the latest post is used.
Examples:
ADVENTURE
VENTILATED (takes VEN from previous word)
PLATFORM (takes LAT from previous word)
CATFISH (takes ATF from previous word)
CATAMOUNT (takes CAT from previous word)
ELEFUNT (disallowed, because of misspelling)
UNTYPICAL (takes UNT from last valid word)
OK? I start.

You can UKify the "ize" part if appropriate. I don't know the rules concerning international speeling.
ERGONOMICS
Ormondroyd Posted Apr 16, 2005
'Being a Salonista is not a lifestyle choice. If you're a Salonista, you know it and part of being a Salonista is embracing the backlog.'
Perhaps you're right, Amy. You've just convinced me that I'm not a Salonista.
'Bye, guys; it's been fun. I am going outside, and I may be some time.

scrumph Posted Apr 16, 2005
Sorry my suggestion for summaries caused such ructions - me and my size 9s (or 10s depending on the cut : )
I liked lego too. Not much more I can add to that really.

I deny responsibility for this game, it was my not-evil twin.

Hypatia Posted Apr 16, 2005
Ormy, being a salonista is like being a catholic - once one, always one. I'm afraid you're stuck.
We had a very interesting workshop at the library today - creative writing. It's always nice when things turn out well.
VISION
tartaronne Posted Apr 16, 2005
*Waves to Ormy*
Take care out there
I think that we should leave it up to the scribe to pick from the suggestions made already. Cooperation with another scribe would be my choice if I was pressed for time.
Subject headline's I would forget half the time, I think.
It's been a musical weekend. Last night we went to a concert at 15's school. The finals of their chosen creative subjects - now they shall study for examens in math, Danish, English, German, physics, geography and all that stuff...
After the two music teams had performed their different pieces (mostly rock and funk) a freetime band (with my son) played Jimmy Hendrix's Purple Haze - with 15 playing the lead guitar rolling on the floor and all. He's only played 1½ years - and he is really good.
Today the adult choir I sing in helped the kids from the music school with their musical to end the year's education. Stomp, songs, circus performance, rock, dancing etc...called The City Pulse. Very hectic and a lot of fun. The youngest was about 3 years.

The letters have to be in the same order as in the source word. Nerdish and Advise disallowed!! If in doubt, delete all other letters until only the three are left that you will be building on.
Ormy, please don't go. Really, you can't. You're made, paisano.

I do hope that names are allowed.
Ormy, please do stay. You are a boon tot he conversation.

Have developed a pretty bad cough, I think I inhaled a bit too much dust while cleaning out the shed.
CANTANKEROUS
Amy the Ant - High Manzanilla of the Church of the Stuffed Olive Posted Apr 17, 2005
*leans on the edge of her kleenex box and watches Ormy go* He won't go far. There is no escape .
I think that during the formative stage of a thread, everyone's posts deserve to be read. The summaries at the start of each thread are, as the name suggests, summative of the ideas we have all read 'in the original'. What I'm driving at here is there's a difference between the formative and summative phases of Salonista life and that to confuse the two - for some people to make contributions based on filtered tabloid versions - will lead to a downgrading of the experience.
*passes one of her kleenex to Kat* Sorry it's a bit warm and crumpled. I've been sitting on it for a while .

Ormy - don't go!
I'm in agreement with Amy on this and wouldn't want to see a dilution of the level of conversation here.
There are nearly thirty people who regularly visit the Atelier - so that means taking a turn at scribing roughly once every two years. Yes, it's a big job with 2000ish posts but once done, can be avoided in all good conscience for quite a while.
Having said that, I enjoyed doing it once I got started.
And, we do have Backlog Exemptions for those who have a good enough story to persuade Lil to open her etui.

and sympathy for Kat. I somethimes find myself weeping for no reason at all. Ususally it turns out that too many small but annoying or stressful things have happened too close together and I think I blow a small fuse. No individual thing is worth weeping over, but all together, oy very.
Sol, you really are a show-off (I'm jealous I didn't get there first, really)

Scrumph has just pointed out to me that he must have simulposted with Ormondroyd and the NER in his NERDISH came from Marv's eNERgize. So he appeals his disqualification. I say he's right, mostly because he's just made me a cooked breakfast.
