Yup Good scribing, Bagpuss..

detailed knowledge required of the benefits system...that's three times as hard as the knowledge..a one handed man, would stand a better chance of untying a Gordian knot with just his thumb and pinkie behind is back, than reinterpretation of the interpretation's of the local benefit office...Decisions

>>>like the date women got to hang on to their property<<<...hopefully not suspended by neck from the rafters.

>>>like my language...spoken, since can be enhanced with nuances that can't ever be injected into the written word with those certain intimacies that give such joy to the heart..rather like Zeppo and Gummo

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am...

Curses, missed it by miles... now that I have a Real Job that actually involves Doing Work I can't follow the threads as diligently as I used to.

The Real Job is alright though, it keeps my brain working and isn't monotonous... although the fact we're answerable to the rather Orwellian sounding Ministry of Justice is somewhat purturbing. I keep imagining black-clad 'enforcers' breaking the office door down and dragging us away for 'correction' whenever we make a mistake.

Montana Redhead (now with letters)

I had what could be the longest day ever. We were busy and short-handed, as well as supply-short, and I spent my day running around feeling like a headless chicken.

At least tonight I'm only giving a midterm to my students...

Montana Redhead (now with letters)

No, good think was, I wrote this midterm on Monday, when I was feeling great and happy, so it's probably easier than I should have made it, but whatever. At this point, I'm so tired, I don't care.

Of course, it helps that I'm really starting to get the hang of the difference between community college and university. And the fact is, there's a HUGE gap. I thought my students at the uni were problematic, but I have nearly a 40% drop out rate at the CC. I realize most of them have lives outside of school, whereas most of my uni stuents don't, but I have never in my life had so many people tell me "sorry, didn't do it" or "I forgot that" or 'can I get that to you tomorrow" -- I never knew people had so many excuses! Maybe the day classes are better (since I'm teaching a night class) but I can't believe how many people seem to think that just by showing up they'll get A's.

And don't get me started on the ones who ask me to post my lectures, and lecture notes, because "it's too hard to listen and take notes at the same time." Hello?!

Sorry, I get a bit heated on this topic...

Blimey, I am a bit late!

Work is going ok, learning the nuances of cancelling people's insurance-keeping it active is generally a lot easier. My productivity is earning me easter eggs, so I don't have to buy them out of a salary I don't get until the 27th. Got to work Saturday though.

Good luck for the op Librarian Pear. I'm still waiting for the hospital to find me an appointment so that I can get a lump on my eyelid looked at.

The notes were very good.

br.Tod-which end of the A229?

Who will volunteer to scribe this conversation?

LPear, best of luck with the operation!

It's tax day. With the end of self-employment, I may even be able to dispense with the accountant next year, but meanwhile I must trudge off with a folder full of Quicken reports and let her sort it all out.

dElaphant (and Zeppo his dog (and Gummo, Zeppos dog)) - Left my apostrophes at the BBC

/* The linen closet door opens, Zeppo and Gummo trot out followed by d'Elaphant whose roller skate wheels are now gummed up with goo. */

Sorry Lil, we headed in the wrong direction and I may have spread a few broken links in old threads. And the goo should come out of the carpet with a little seltzer water, I'm sure Chloe can handle it. Also there's no sense in anyone trying to be first to the forum next time around, I've already made post #-1. It was kind of interesting skipping ahead like that into the forelog, I probably shouldn't reveal anything about it because of those space-time continuuwhatnots, but I will say this - when the time comes a certain someone should say "no" to the drink from the terra-cotta flask.

We'll also be short a few mbougatses in the next thread.
