Congrats on the detox, Ben. Now, if I could just give up smoking...
Oh, S**t. I have a friend who just decided to tell me she's pregnant by a jerk who already has a pregnant fiance. I feel like I've been put in a really bad place...I'm supportive of whatever she decides, but at the same time, I'm thinking...what the he** did you expect from a guy who would cheat on his pregnant fiance?!!?!?!?!
Yikes.

Thanks for trying to identify the tv show, people . I don't think we've found the right answer yet but I'll pass all your ideas on. I think we get given the answers tonight and I'll let you all know the answer.

Jeeze, MR, and I thought my situation was complicated and painful. It is probably not ok of me to say this, but if it is early enough in the pregnancy I for one would consider termination. A baby is for life and not just for a christening.
Oh - and one thing I have learned about men who cheat on women - most of them a absolutely lovely guys. They have to be, to get that many gals into bed!

The tv show turned out to be Hill Street Blues! It was a really bad picture - one of the guys was actually a girl

Hill Street Blues? Well, I am surprised!
Bought two new lippies today, from Bourjois, not earth shattering perhaps but these are more of a tinted lip gloss and have surprising staying power.
No2 son and g/f are joining us for dinner tonight. H was going to cook, but he has opted for a take away from Wagamma, which is cool, I shall be having a 71 with possibly a 101 on the side.

Oh and MR, that is really rather sad news about your friend. I don't know why people put themselves through stuff that is bound to end in tears. She must have known somewhere deep down that she would end up getting hurt.

That's a 70's show that was shown in England... so I would have known it! I didn't have a telly, so I would go round to friends and we would play bridge until Hill Street Blues was on.
If the picture was THAT bad it should be protested.

I've been thinking about your friend on and off all day, MR.
My CD player has just broken - the drawer won't open. I am not sure if there is a CD stuck in it or not, but either way I am annoyed. I simply don't have the ££ at the moment to replace it, though I will check out how much they are, of course. But realistically, if I have no money coming in, then money which isn't spent on food, keeping the car going, or making the flat easier to rent is simply not being spent at the moment.

Ben, if you have a personal portable CD player you can probably connect it up to your big one. Mine's had a broken drawer for many years! One day, when there are no other demands on my money, perhaps I'll replace it.
MR, is your friend Britney Spears?

It is the only CD player I have got. Even the one in my PC is bust.
A friend is rehoming a DVD player, so I might ask her about that. it would involve a major re-arrangement of the flat, but I would at least have music.
The only thing I am grateful for is the fact that it is obviously just old age, and not broken by anyone else's rough handling.
I am still hopefully sticking things in it, but I know that isn't actually going to work...

Mmm detox, I have just eaten a entire meal of processed food that despite being vegetarian, may not have ever seen a vegatable. At least the non-meat pie contained no parts of animal that I'd rather not eat.
Spot the infertile one, I immedatly recoiled at the thought of an abortion. That said I'm a passionate believer in a right to choose, and would of course perform abortions as I think that every woman should be entitled to one free of charge, as long as she could have one according to the law of the land.
A had some schoolfriends around last night, I assumed that they'd be rather nice grammar school boys much as he is, but they were quite normal and spent the whole night smoking pot, drinking, and playing computer games, it was nice to be a student again!
It was quite odd because his group of friends at school were all gay, so they busy giggling over which teachers they fancied, which of the rugby team they'd pulled, and which of the straight boys they'd have like to have pulled. Most of us didn't get to do that, most of us* spent our time sitting in the corner of said gatherings and pretended we fancied the opposite sex.
*us being gay people obviously!

Just been watching Shrek and we had forgotten most if it, totally wasted on kids. I am now aiming to see Shrek2 asap.
I too have been thinking of MR's friend and the right to choose is tantamount to my philosophy on life, not just in relation to pregnancies but to all decisions regarding one's life. Sadly too many people on this planet don't have that.
