Welcome back, dave!
I'm glad that you enjoyed SLC. It is a very beautiful city. (Although, personally, I'm liking the warmth and lack of frozen percipitation that I have found here in Austin. )

I found looking down along one of the streets, from a nearby hill, and seeing the lights stretch out across the valley to be very beautiful.
Coming down from snowboarding on monday, and seeing the "fog" (brown) sitting like a puddle over the city was sad.

*sighs*
At least I wasn't the only one to get 4/10.

I'll have to look the DVD of that out Marv. I'm sure there is all sorts of imagery that I didn't get at the time that's in there.

10/10 but then it's my w*rk.
Did Tennessee really pass a state law decreeing the value of Pi was 4?
Googles are okay, but my favorite number is the googleplex
10^100 = googol
10^google = googolplex
Question : can you write out a googleplex longhand? (1,000......)

Seth
One of the states did try to be silly but I think they wanted to make it 3
Haven't got time to search for it as I'm about to leg it down the road to the non-quiz
(our regular haunt is having a refit, so no quiz this week, but some of us are meeting up anyway in another pub)

I miss going to a pub quiz reguarlly - none of my locals do it, and none of my mates are into it..
I think it's a googol not a google... and this fantanstic entry on the subject is waiting to go into the guide.. A2181548

MR and I used to do a pub quiz back in the day, but it's been nearly two years since we last met across the pencils and paper. The pub we went to changed ownership and went all upscale yuppie fern-cum-fraternity boy bar with gambling machines.

Here the quizzes are very popular. We don't have the pub quizzes as you know them but we have tournaments for teams and for single contestants, special quizzes like music or pictures or nature or buiding or whatever you name. Our county championship for example has 15 games and 21 teams.

I need to see if I can find a pub quiz around here. It would certainly give me something to fill my "free" time.

I think that you're talking about Indiana where someone wanted to make pi exactly three. Having lived in the Hoosier state for most of my life, I'm pretty sure that we're the birthstate of that mad mathematician.
I can't remember if his proposition was ever accepted or not, but I know that it's not the case now.

I've just been reading todays "independent" newspaper- did you know that the Google search engines headquarters is called the "Googleplex"?

I did not know that, but it's probably going to be the deciding fact for my next RL Pop-Culture Quiz.
