G7
Sorry that was a quick resize and upload
I haven't put any helpful bits like names up yet, I'll have difficulty remembering them as well even though, or perhaps because I was there

Leave it out, Oetzi.
This is *Lil's* Atelier, but the rules, such as they are, are for *everyone's* benefit. Personal agendas don't come into it.

Did you notice that 70% of the salonistas in that picture wear glasses? It begs the question: do the other 3 wear contacts?

Yes, thanks for the photos BB (and the identification GD).
Was that a lurker who just appeared? Welcome Noggin!
And hi, G7. Nice to see you back and posting regularly.

Ben, you look exactly like I pictured you. Sol too. For some reason, I kept thinking Titania was blonde (must be a nordic thing!). And man, Egon really *is* tall, isn't he?
I'm all for a US meet...I know that G7 had one, but fg and I couldn't make it. I say NM would be fun, and Texas, as long as neither of them are in the middle of summer. I'd also suggest one here, and we could pointedly NOT go to Disneyland...

He certainly wasn't standing up straight as he towers over me.

Thanks, GL. I've only been lurking long enough to get a feel for the conversation.
Couldn't make the meet myself but it's interesting to put faces to names.

Egon is really really tall. Delightful, of course.
Look, Oetzi: I appreciate that you seem to think that anybody trying to enforce any rules on anybody anywhere on a BBC site which are not specifically covered by the House Rules (and then some that are like not being offensive) is just wrong, but just for a second, can we ignore the sea lawyer stuff and consider what h2g2 is (or should be) regardles of where it is.
It's a community.
Now the Altelier is a particular community within the community, but it doesn't really matter, as the whole point about being a member of a community, or a family for that matter, is that you may have the right to do whatever the hell you want to, but you don't as you want to support everyone else as well as selfishly getting your own needs satisfied. It's not about fitting in from some kind of pathetic need to, er, fit in. It's about being considerate.
So, no, technically, neither the BBC nor us have any right to tell you how to post or where to post or what to post (outside of your adherence to the site rules), all we are trying to do is that this group, this comunity, this family has certain needs which it would be nice if you could make some effort conform to, not because the rules themselves are omportant but to show the same respect and considersation for the people here that they have shown to each other over the goodnes knows how many years and which, given half an opportunity they would like to show to you too. All the requests made of you over the last few months are, yes, to an extent aimed at curbing your freedom, but freedom comes with responsibility, doesn't it?
To which I predict that you will probably say something like: woohoo I really enjoy a good dust up. We know you like to rock and roll. But we don't particularly want to here, if you don't mind. It's tiring and depressing for us in what is, to an extent, a bit of a sanctuary. I don't think you actually realise that we are not trying to impose our will on you per se, but are more into pleading for a bit of a break from constant sniping. For example, I echo Ben's point that after a very pleasant evening in the company of very pleasant people I come here with the fixed intention of continuing bubbly irripressible, and the last thing I wanted to do was write this.
I mean is it really necessary to satisfy your own craving for this at _all_ of our expense? Who exactly are these mythical people who are enjoying this? Apart from yourself?

[LIL] too angry to do anything but compose posts and then delete them. I will have to go set up the agenda that Oetzi seems to long for so fiercely that he is willing to destroy a community in order to bring it about.

You'll notice with reference to this post, for example, that everyone is always very kind to me about my seeming inability to either spell or spot typos, so you can't say that there's a pedantic nitpickiness about our wearily asking for some clarity to be injected.

Thanks, GL. Its ever so nice to be back!
, Egon must be REALLY tall! And I thought Marv made me feel short at 6'4"... My question, of course, is why his hair is so tall as well. Either way, wonderful pics, as I said earlier. all round.
MR, Cali would be wonderful! I just don't know when I'm going to be able to make it out there yet. I have to do it within the next... 11 months and 11 days, however. Before I'm 30. I'm trying to decide if that makes me feel old or not now...
*sips and pretends she didn't mention her age in public*

Oh, heck, if we were that picky, Z would have left a long time ago. The boy can't spell to save his life. I have issues with capitalization. Titania occasionally has to search for the english word she wants to use, and if she uses the wrong one, no one beats her up for it, we just ask for a clarification.
As long as we know what someone's trying to say, then it's all good. It's when we have to puzzle out the meanings that it becomes tedious. No offense, LTP, but often your posts don't make any sense to me, and when I ask you to clarify them, I don't get a response. Why is that?
But we've been here, done that. I for one don't want to do it again. Oetzi, if you wish to continue banging the elitist drum, go right on ahead. I won't respond on this issue again.

OK, I skipped most of the backlog (about 70 posts) so, I don't know specifically what happened and I don't feel that I am qualified to offer too much of an opinion. This is probably a good thing as, from what I have read already, I would likely go off on Oetzi again, something I really have no wish to do.
I do have a request for Oetzi however: )Please, stop making waves. I enjoy coming here for the conversations, I may not always take part in them but that is just the way I am, I don't like having to read all of the arguements that have cropped up because you didn't think before you typed.
Had to go to the hospital today, my uncle had a heart attack a couple of days ago and had to undergo a quadruple bypass on Friday. He is doing well, all things considered. He's talking and joking like normal.
