I'm sure it looks absolutely splendid.

Amos the Ranchhand (and Driver) Posted Dec 26, 2003
*at a quiet word and shake of the reins, Bonnie and Clyde dig in and start eagerly toward home*
*Toasty is stowed in a corner of the wagon where the chill won't affect the other passengers*
*the wagon has hardly turned the first hairpin when it becomes clear from the noise in the underbrush that the wagon is being shadowed by several substantial creatures*
*the noise and possibility of danger makes the horses nervous, and they keep trying to sprout wings and take off, which is not a good idea on account of the cliff edge on the wagon's left*

Coniraya Posted Dec 26, 2003
*hangs on tightly*
Oh boy, I hope those creepy things don't catch up with us.
The squid lights seem to be keeping them at bay for the moment.
Fun size Snickers, anyone?

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Dec 26, 2003
No thanks, those things are filling-rippers when they're cold.
*clinging tightly to the edge of the wagon as the bounce over some ruts* I can't wait to get home.

Afgncaap5 Posted Dec 26, 2003
*Affy unsheathes his sword to look at it. It's glowing blue*
Affy4-Okay, those things are registering as a significant threat, so let's not delay. If we can make it out of the Forest and into the Crater Proper, CLI's security systems should keep us safe. But we're not out of the, um,....woods....yeah,....

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Dec 26, 2003
*looks around, making sure that Ripley is safe in the arms of Hyp*
*squints*
*bow and arrow ready*

Amos the Ranchhand (and Driver) Posted Dec 26, 2003
*three huge killer rabbits burst out on to the road and run alongside the wagon on the side opposite the cliff edge*
*Bonnie and Clyde increase their pace. They are on a slope but fortunately there seem to be no sharp curves ahead. Amos concentrates on keeping in communication with the horses through the reins*
*One of the killer rabbits snaps at the unsheathed sword in Affy5's hand*

*Rummages around in his coat and produces a small crossbow.*

Killer rabbits?!
Now, little rabbits - pull back, or... *aims carefully* You've been warned!

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Dec 27, 2003
*starts digging frantically in her bag for her nanogun, the last thing she thought she'd need on a hayride*

*Cocks his crossbow and lays in a bolt.*
Back of wittle bunny wabbits!
Fetching the Goo Spruce 2003
Coniraya Posted Dec 27, 2003
Where did they come from?!
*rummages in a pocket or three till she finds her creme brulee torch*
Aah haa!
*sets the gas flame to high and has her thumb poised over the ignition button*
Come on then make my day!
Fetching the Goo Spruce 2003
Afgncaap5 Posted Dec 27, 2003
*Affy5 slashes at the rabbit that was foolish enough to snap at his longsword while Affy4 draws his broadsword and swings at a rabbit that gets too close to the wagon*
Affy5-Now this is unusual. We're close to Mt. SandEverest, but the killer rabbits don't normally come down to this lower elevation. These're also much bigger and unstable looking than your average killer rabbit. Very unusual....
Affy4-*Muttering what sound like complaints in some weird language*

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Dec 27, 2003
*pulling out her nanogun and setting it to pellets*
My first guess would be overpopulation. The lack of hunting would drive them to seek fresh ranges.
They are huge! They're a little bigger than the horses! I had no idea.
*shoots a stream of pellets atthe nose of the nearest killer rabbit*
Fetching the Goo Spruce 2003
Coniraya Posted Dec 27, 2003
*presses the ignition button, causing a 3' flame shoot forth from the blowtorch*
*the closest to her looks rather as the flame shoots between its ears*
Just watch it buster, this may look harmless enough but it can do serious damage!

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Dec 27, 2003
*still hoping, against all (appearable) odds that the rabbits will pull back at the multiple threats aimed at them*

Amos the Ranchhand (and Driver) Posted Dec 28, 2003
*Affi5's sword leaves a shallow slash in the ear of one of the monsters -- it makes a harsh guttural noise and stops running in order to perform grooming activities*
*the second killer rabbit gets a dash of pellets in the nose just as a gout of flame sizzles the hair on its head. It squeals and bangs a hind leg against the side of the wagon, then lashes out with its teeth toward the snowman*
*the third rabbit tries to bite Affi4*
*meanwhile, Bonnie and Clyde have turned into whatever it was they were before, hooved and winged monsters with heads like travesties of rabbits. It is fortunate that the passengers don't notice that, at the next curve, the wagon takes a short cut across thin air*
*Amos is too busy trying to handle the horses to help with the fighting*

*Takes aim at the closest killer rabbit and lets loose catching the rabbit in the foot.*
Lucky rabbit's foot? Doesn't look so lucky to me!
