I noticed you both you and Spy surreptiously kicking the balls in front of the back wickets while others played on ..but it seemed to be your idea...not nice to corrupt bald biker youth.

Another odd thing about playing croquet at Hypatia's house is that it must be done to the opera "Carmina Burana" on the boombox...

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Jul 7, 2006
*strolls cheerily back into the salon* Hallo again everyone! I've just been having a look at the rooms around the exhibition area, and I think it would be good for all of us to turn that entire corner over to healthy activities. So we'll move the fish husbandry down to where the greenhouses are; the gardenbots have been breeding mostly koi for the pond anyway.
So we'll give the corner room and the two rooms immediately adjacent over to sauna, massage and a gym. HMH (healingmagichands) can arrange the walls and such any way she likes.
It has rained all afternoon, quite heavily at times, and more rain is promised tomorrow. It's a proper monsoon season. And my landlady/neighbor comes home tomorrow too.

I recall being told to wear a silly hat, but not how long I was supposed to wear it for.
*tries to ignore any mention of a gym*

FUnny you should mention the gym. I was cajoled till I joined up with our company gym today. After a breif stress test to make sure that I would not keel over dead when working out I then proceded to ride and lift. I am going to feel it in the morning.

Just checking in. Baggers and I did indeed go see Big Brutus, which is a steam shovel taller than a 15 story building. It is 160 feet tall and weighs 11,000,000 pounds. The capacity of the dipper is 90 cubic yards or enough to fill three railroad cars in one scoop.
Claws, Paws, Scales and Tales is the theme for Summer Reading. The same theme is being used by about 30 states. The Teen Readinmg theme is Creature Feature.
I'm off to bed now. We are planning to leave fairly early in the morning. I'll try to check in, but if not I'll talk to you tomorrow night when I get back from St. Louis.

I really do like that spam poetry, but y'all knew I would.
My favourite piece of non-spam is entitled "Virgin customer satisfaction survey" from "[email protected]".
Right. Find railway tickets and tickets for the Tate. Make sarnies. Go to work.
I you all. You're my best mates, you are.

Ben, hope you have a great trip -- the Tate, I'm !

My friend was telling me on Tuesday that AZ and NM are getting their monsoon season a month early -- her mom lives in Tucson and they've already had to dodge a flash flood.
I made a trip across NM during monsoon season in August once -- it was more a few molecules of oxygen mixed with sheets of rain, and lightning. Hopefully, your neighbor's lawn will be green and not mud.

Welcome healingmagichands
Did I welcome you, Phred? If not, *hurries* welcome
>Must be cloned so I have time to have my life and live on Hootoo at the same time Wouldn't we all... A few times over for me, please!
I think I'll carefully avoid the workout machinery - I subscribe more to the being outdoors walking and bicycling school (and the "alcohol has saved a lot of people from excercise" one, too ). But sauna and massage sounds awfully nice
Rain What is that, now? Is it the thing that when it is lacking meakes the grass go all yellow and such? (yep, we need some badly - they promise all of 2 mm today and less than one tomorrow
)

Actually, the great thing is that now I have a thoroughly convincing reason why I need yoga classes. There's a place which looks splendidly hippiish near me so I must make arrangements.
I'm too embarrassed to join a gym. But I might sneak off to the room here when you're all not looking...
Welcome healingmagichands!

Oh and for some reason I thought the meet was later in the month. It should be doable though! Let me go over there and look...

Right, final post on the subject: Are you, Ben, Phil and Ag, doing what in the afternoon bit of the meet? And where?

Ben Posted Jul 7, 2006
Z and I were lured by the Kandinskys in the Tate Modern, we have tickets from 2.00 so we can either meet up before or catch up with any salonistas who have a similar taste for modernist Russian art. *looks at Sol*. Presumably one can get tickets on line and pick them up on the day. It's a tenner.

Ning Nall,
Hears rumours of gyms and exercise, yuk, studiously ignores all refernces to fit things and skulks off looking for a bolt hole until the current enthusiasm has passed.

I've taken pills so hopefully it will go away.
Not going to The Meet this weekend... instead I shall be in Tewkesbury watching a load of people beat each other up in a muddy field and buying cool Medieval stuff.

We might be joinging people on a trip to the Museum of London in the afternoon but haven't yet decided.
My bag is sitting in left luggage. The train tickets are in my pocket. The hotel is booked. I hope the trains will be going further than Northampton when we got on one later though.
Sounds like a fun weekend you've got planned there Mr D.

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Posted Jul 7, 2006
I'm hoping it'll be fun as well... looking at the weather report it won't be the sundrenched horror that it was last year (no shade, y'see), but if the rain keeps up it'll be horrible and muddy.
In other news the headache still hasn't subsided and I have writers block.
