smiley - bigeyes I've just been asked out. By a man! Who wasn't my husband!

Clearly I am 'blooming'. Had a fleeting moment of regret that I was indeed happily married when Cute Argentinian Guy asked me if I had plans for this evening. I said no of course, but am *very* flattered...!

Yes, yoga classes might be a good idea.

I won't be at the London meet as my weekend will be filled with rehearsals and a performance at a garden party. smiley - musicalnote

Morning all. Have a Cub Scout day camp today, should be fun.

Well, Bagpuss, I'll give you that point. Hypatia did mention that rule when she was talking about croquet and not everyone was privy to that conversation. Not only that, but the "Rules" were not posted. Phred, it doesn't count as cheating if you move SOMEONE ELSE'S ball. That is purely charity. smiley - blush

What a beautiful garden, Wilma!

We have a water crisis in Lincoln, a municipal water crisis. It was only just noticed yesterday that the level in the town tanks was down to 4 feet. smiley - yikes So the water board members phoned everyone who's on the system (there are 50 meters), and warned us to conserve until the springs returned the volume to normal.

This morning the board members are checking every connection in town; in spite of the spring flowing into the tanks all night, the water level is still only 4 feet. And here I thought it was OK, and I took a bath, washed two days worth of dishes and ran a load of laundry!! Now I feel like a criminal.

We're all filling empty water jugs now, because they'll probably have to turn the system off before they fix the leak, and with a hole that size, there won't be time to warn everyone. Jeez.

Lil,
You have my sympathies, water is by far the most essential utility. We used to loose power and water in Azerbaijan but water was by far the worse. Fingers crossed somebody puts theirs in the damn before it too late.

Wilma, what lovely gardens. I envy the birds of paradise. I can't have them here unless they are in a pot and taken into the greenhouse for the winter. And the roses are so beautiful. I love them so much. I have rugosa and briar roses here because they are so hardy. Since I am an organic gardener I haven't had any luck with tea roses or multifloras, they are just too susceptible to diseases and bugs.

London Meet. Pub. Yes. I have booked myself in to actually look at my husband and remind myself of his general appearance and character during Saturday Day (though I think this will take the form of Essential Shirt Shopping) but Saturday evening I will be in pub near St Paul's awaiting Hootoo pals with much lively eagerness.

Pardon machine-gun babbling. It has been a HAARRDD day and Freddie has been kicking my bottom throughout and no one ever calls me back when I want them to and always calls me back when I am not there (and I said I'd not be there at that time. I'm a busy woman. My job-share is on leave) and there have been so many stupid things to deal with I couldn't actually spend any time at all actually doing my job as such and now I'm drinking gin on an empty stomach and it's going right to my head...
